I really do think Dick is funny and TDS is a funny show, but I've always thought the fans of it were cringy as fuck. Part of the fun, to me, was Dick obviously overblowing his opinions on things and using his character as a foil for his guests or as a way of highlighting how annoying/retarded a situation is
I would assume that the vast majority of passing viewers that was the entertainment too, but the hardcore paypigs strike me as autists or losers that turn to the show as a "yeah, that's chad, I'm chad by association" hit to make them not feel like fat retarded faggots. Most of the clips from the live shows seem that way, with a bunch of nice looking (well, aside from Dick's mini-gunt) and talented people on stage only for the camera to pan to the desperate fucks in the audience all sitting in the audience going 'yeah, that's totally me.' I guess that's probably just the nature of entertainment, but it's still cringy as fuck, why is it so hard for people to sit back and laugh/enjoy something without trying to be it or kill it
