So not only is the counselor a slightly changed version of one of the main characters of this show (Meiko), but the school is exactly the same, and in the last episode you're introduced to a girl featuring hair drills very similarly to Kokona (Or the other club leader girl). Surprised to have not already seen this in the thread. I even looked up some pictures of typical Japanese high-schools, and not a single one follows the square unified design, while Yandere Simulators school is based EXACTLY off of school of this series. Alex is too lazy and uncreative to make a his own unique complex designs.

Quite possibly; Koikatsu Party also uses the Unity game engine and I'm fairly certain with one or two exceptions everything you can do in Yandere Simulator is in the unmodded version of Koikatsu Party. The first thing missing would be murdering students, with the other being the camera/panty shots (this is an assumption on my part, though I'd bet a modder could add both things in with some effort).

ILLUSION, the creator of Koikatsu Party has made several products like it that are very commonly used to create 3DCG characters/enviroments/"artwork" for visual novels because creating your own artwork takes a lot of time and can be hard (naturally, this means that almost any visual novel using these programs for their visuals is likely low effort garbage and best ignored). Artificial Academy/Honey Select/AI Shoujo are also made by ILLUSION, with Artificial Academy being of a similar anime style while the other two are more "plastic doll" CG. Naturally, they're all made for creating and lewding your perfect fictional waifu so I wouldn't be surprised if Alex knows a lot more about these products than any of us.

Also, ILLUSION made that one game that got the international media hot and bothered years after it was released only in Japan.

Just as an fyi, the girl in the Drama Club with the exact same haircut as that girl from prison school isn't Kokona. Alex just so uncreative that he decided to make the entire drama club have Purple Hair and made the characters of the same gender have the same eye color (Red for boys, Purple for Girls) and very similar haircuts. Doesn't change the fact that, like you said, he probably stole the design.

And for everything you noted in this post, the shape of the school is especially egregious, because not only could nobody call him out for stealing it from an Anime if he made his own design, but it would both look more like an actual school and probably help with the gameplay's stealth element a bit (The way Alex made the school means that there are basically zero natural hiding spots, so Alex has to artifically implement a lot of them in. This is especially noticeable on the rooftop).

To be fair to the creators of this game in particular at least you can make some interesting characters in camera mode and you don’t have to touch the story if you really don’t want to. This is not the case with Yansim camera mode where you still incur penalties for being late to class.
