Given we see a clear shot of him courtesy of that news bulleton holding the gun, we can safely say it IS a gun since it matches the profile.

As for why he didn't use it... do you seriously think these LARPers have trained with guns for a while? Using it in a high adrenaline situation takes either concious choice, or honed reflex. He is operating on instinct, and without training to make that instinct be "Shoot", its instead "Run in and stomp on it".

They're all freaking out about the libertarian militia guys coordinating with the cops at the gas station. They conveniently leave out the part where they also coordinated with the main BLM protest, and were guarding resting protesters where the cops wouldn't bother them.

What's funny is all it would have taken to nullify the effect this had on Trump's campaign was for the democrats to say "yeah this shits fucked up." Sure they wouldn't mean it but they're fucking politicians they lie all the time especially to get elected. Why sacrifice votes from normal Americans for these fringe anarchists who don't like them and most likely don't even vote. Riots have been going on for three months and haven't seen one video of these people chanting "Biden 2020" while they dance around something they set on fire.
