Officer-involved shooting under investigation in Kenosha

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58 ) -- An officer-involved shooting investigation is underway in Kenosha on Sunday, Aug. 23.

The shooting happened near 28th Avenue and 40th Street around 5:11 p.m., after officers were called for a "domestic incident."

According to police, officers provided immediate aid to the person. They were transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert in Milwaukee for treatment. The person is in serious condition.

A large crowd gathered near the scene following the shooting.

Kenosha Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol were requested immediately so that the scene could be turned over to an agency other than Kenosha police.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ), Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) will handle the investigation.

Apparently the dude was cleaning up post-riot graffiti early in the day, so having an AR for self-defense isn't exactly a terrible idea.

And @Lurker , if some asshole comes at you with a gun, I hope you die by those words as you neglect potentially lethal self-defense as he extra-judicially kills you.

EDIT: Pro-tip, look up definitions before using words too. Legally justified self-defense is by its very definition, not extrajudicial.

cool story

still doesn't justify extra-judicial killing.

It's not extra-judicial anything, it's justified self-defense, because he did everything the law requires - retreated, and only defended himself against people that pursued and assaulted him.

That would justify going there to go shopping, and probably even to be armed while doing that. It doesn't justify going there with a gun specifically to participate in a riot no matter what side of the riot you were on. You want to do that for some insane reason? Find one guy who wants help defending his property. Have him hire a bunch of people. Then it's literally your job to be there.

Otherwise your legal situation is shit, especially with a corrupt, politicized prosecutor who will side with the terrorists while prosecuting law abiding citizens for defending themselves.

He was fucking defending himself. It's not okay to let people murder you.

Wisconsin is an open carry state, provided you're not a felon like the faux paramedic. Speaking of, I haven't heard anything about charges being laid against him, yet. Big thunk there.

whatever you say, man. don't know where your perception of events is coming from, but sure, man, he a gud boi who dindunuffin.

it's not okay to kill people extra-judicially. it doesn't matter if they had past criminal offenses. if they weren't given the death penalty for their other criminal offenses, then who the fuck is this little thug to be their judge, jury, and executioner?

but he a gud boi who cleaned graffiti during the day so he is absolved of any wrongdoing. he a gud boi who dindunuffin.

edit: tfw there are people out there who think killing people extra-judicially is okay and there is nothing wrong with it. humanity is fantastic.
He killed them because they were trying to kill him, not because they had criminal records. Their crimes are just the cherry on top of the sundae.

So yeah, I'd say trying to protect a city legitimately makes Kyle a good boy. Everything points to him having good intentions.

You think it's bad to shoot someone who's attacking you? If a crackhead came at you with a knife you'd let him do it?

I analyzed the event based on multiple sources, looked at what laws cover the event, and came to a conclusion, instead of being an mediocre contrarian on a shit-posting board. There's multiple twitter threads, videos, and news articles within this thread that make it incredibly easy to determine what occurred, and less than 10 minutes of googling gave me all the relevant legislation.

Someone want to pull the video on this, since there's some claims being made?

Based on what I spotted in the video, it's the Speedway gas station at Washington Road and 30th Ave.

Worth noting that it's not just regular cops either, it appears to be US Marshals Service. (He comes in frame @ ~1:07)

This is the stopped/seized vehicle, but I'm not sure about the state that plate is from.

the purpose of a gun is to kill or injure.

The purpose of a gun is to preserve the life of the user.

What other reason do you own or bring out a loaded, usable weapon than with the intent to kill if felt necessary, self-defense or otherwise?

To preserve your life or the lives of your loved ones. Look up CDC numbers about defensive use of firearms. Often simply showing the weapon is enough to avert further violence. Please inform yourself before opening your mouth.

The cops had literally no idea of who Blake is or what his crimes were at the scene. They were simply called to stop a fight, not an active rape. To them, he could've been any random person.

Dispatch recordings have dis-proven this. The police were dispatched to the scene because Blake wouldn't leave and had stolen the property of one of the women who lived at the address. They were also informed prior to arrival that Blake was wanted for felony rape. He also fought then when they arrived and stated he had a knife in his vehicle. He then refused to listen to commands and reached into his vehicle, likely to retrieve his weapon.

If that guy really wanted to kill Kyle, he'd have used literally anything else at the scene besides a heavy, clumsy piece of wood.

Except, ya know, for the metal trucks that connect the wheels. Those are a solid chunk of metal and can break your skull if it connects. Skateboard punks even have a phrase to refer to wielding the skateboard as a weapon and using the trucks to harm someone. They call it "truck fucking".

The people who got partyvanned were the crew of Riot Kitchen, a mobile food truck/antifa weapon dispensary.
