Folks, I call this Dem ticket a throw-away ticket. Neither Joe nor Da Hoe are worth a shit. Reminds me some of 1972, when Nixon and Agnew curbstomped McGovern and Shriver, Thomas Eagleton's replacement. Eagleton had to leave the ticket when it was learned he'd had mental health treatment. Here in 2020, it's Joe who isn't playing with a full deck. Agree the recent spate of riots in Democratic-controlled cities are a shot in the arm for President Trump's campaign. It's being demonstrated that the mayors/prosecutors cannot or will not keep things under control of their own accord, and the behavior of the rioters is pissing off Americans all over, since they aren't seeing such shit in Republican-controlled cities. Americans can see what's in store for them under Joe and Da Hoe - more of the same.
Dems need to look to 24. As a "regulating" election, it's theirs to lose. If the Dems can get a Presidential candidate that isn't far-left and batshit crazy, they have a good chance to win.

They will bounce this idea around for a while of not having a debate, then "graciously" agree to one with a lot of restrictions. In particular I am very sure they will want a livestream because of "coronavirus concerns/icky right wing germs" where they can pull all sorts of bullshit. Pass Joe answers to read from behind the camera, pretend the connection is bad/cut the feed when asked hard questions etc. This will be in spite of the live debate with Sanders. When this is denied they will either fold and do the debates properly (with a heavily biased leftwing panel), or do the dumb move of saying "well, we tried, no debates".
If they are stupid/arrogant enough to peddle the idea of no presidential debates openly, instead of it being a behind the scenes plan, then they are stupid/arrogant enough to try the above.

If it was a throwaway ticket, they wouldn't be trying so hard to cause chaos in this country or shut down their state's economies in an effort to try to stump the Trump on the economy. This isn't a throw-away for them. They are putting in every inch of effort into trying to win this election or else the Washington establishment will be permanently defeated. And you're assuming that Democrats are thinking rationally. They aren't. They are blinded by their arrogance and hubris and think that Donald Trump really can be defeated.
When Trump wins in a landslide, the Democrats will refuse to concede and litigate the election in court. And when their efforts don't work, they will not accept the results of the election and continue doubling down on their Trump Derangement Syndrome. In the meantime, their party will suffer a serious fracture/split within the party as progressives, angry at the Democratic Party's loss due to nominating the most establishment candidate on the block, will be even more emboldened in trying to wrest control of the party's apparatus and primary out neoliberal incumbents in primaries in local, state, and congressional elections in 2021 and 2022.
Meanwhile, the Trump takeover of the Republican Party will be pretty much finalized, as most, if not all of the NeverTrumper RINOs have either retired or been primaried out. The Republican Party will win big league in the successive midterms as the Democratic Party will be too fractured and disunited to pose a serious challenge to a more effective Republican Party that appeals to a great majority of the American people.
And that's how the Democrats get locked out of power for decades. This is the future they chose and it will be a sight to see, as they will finally reap the massive amounts of karma that they richly deserve for causing chaos within the streets and being anti-American just so they could've try to get Trump out of office.
