I dropped by r/CAGuns to check on if the magazine ban was going to get reappealed today and a thread about him had one of the more upvoted comments going 'Well he should have deescalated, this isn't a good look for gun owners, basically the same thing as a gang shooting'. Like, I don't know what deescalation is if literally running away from a confrontation until you no longer can isn't it.

They either post cut clips to alter the narrative (ie only showing Kyle shoot and not the leading incidents). Or people don't watch the videos and only go off what other people tell them. If you only see the hate-mongering news articles then you only get that side.

This little fella was a real charmer and piece of work. You can see the chip on his shoulder giving off steam as he shouts 'shoot me nigga' over and over again. A right little mental defective that is better eradicated from the gene pool.
All this is academic of course. He threatened Kyle and made him fear for his life - a dumb thing to do with someone who has a rifle - and the belief he had that baby-face Kyle would not shoot him, was plainly wrong - or perhaps he didn't care and had a death wish. Type of guy that suicides by cop if you ask me.
Kyle is 17 years old, Rosenbaum was someone who probably had taken a fair few pastings in prison, so Kyle wouldn't have stood much chance against that kind of pure aggression, manlet or no manlet. Height is nearly always an advantage in a fist fight, but when it comes to street-fighting and you both end up on the floor grappling, it doesn't count for so much. Pure fruity loops aggression does though, especially when they start biting chunks out of your cheeks/ears/nose. It was never going to be a fair fight, it was just meant to be a beat down on a kid. Kyle did the right thing, 100 percent.
And I wouldn't even like to think of the outcome if he had grappled or just beat down Kyle and stolen his rifle. The kind of rage he was in he probably would have turned it on Kyle first, then anyone else who seemed to be 'enemy'. Kyle didn't just save his own life, he probably saved the lives of countless others as well.
But policing in the United States is a wasteland overrun with violent racism and murder.

Interestingly enough, one of the DC streamers (I think it was Adam of repeated pepperspray fame) toured this area last night when the fireworks post RNC died down and that exact area I seem to recall had chairs spaced at least 6 feet apart in preparation. There was also giant pallets of waterbottles every tree or so along the perimeters...
