She's probably just as fucked in the head. The kid is probably as good as dead or banged up, boy or girl. There is no community to take care of these people. That's why these mutants get so spiteful in the first place.

It's easy to judge people. Sometimes you don't even need to - you can just work off prejudice and you are already half-way to the truth.
