There is more to it, when I was in Medical IT, I saw examples of AI being able to do medical coding for billing (translating doctor notes in to ICD10, its more then just "Pt has a fracture of pelvis, right side" as far as the doctors notes doctors can be all over the place in terms of what they write). I saw examples of AI being able to replace radiologists and other MD specialty jobs. AI is not just taking the low skilled/no skill workers but that of highly trained professionals who have done 10+ years of schooling.

At some point AI will take all/most jobs with nothing left for us except the best of the best.
Ive thought about this and what would humans be needed for a fully automated future. The answer machines need to be corrected when they fuck up. Only way to do that is have a human review the code. Yet to understand say an a.i designed to manage global airline flight paths would take a human years to review. The answer would be update the human so it can do debugging and such.

This meams genetic enginnering and cybernetic implants to have the self correction abilities of humans to keep machines running smoothly. Like review why a radiation machine would give 1000 times the recocmended dose on a cancer patient or why a telsa wont move if you oaint a white circle around it.

So the answer would be a transhuman or post human future transforming everyone into being capable of handling the complexity needed to manage hi tech.

If a chance the U.S will Balkanize in the future, then it is possible that Canada and Mexico will attempt to seize some territory back.
If Canada would take everything east of the Hudson it's theirs, as far as I'm concerned. That would butter many parsnips for us.

The great lakes don't have a strategic position. None of them empties into any ocean. That's why they dug the (now mostly defunct) Erie Canal. Only place they'll take you is some other place just like the one you left. ALso, they aren't connected to the Mississippi River. Other than those two technicalities, your plan is perfect, except for the long-distance trade and projection of power. But you're right, they are wet.
There are canals running through Chicago that link the Great Lakes to the Mississippi watershed. We're desperately trying to keep the Asian Carp from getting through them and becoming established in the Lakes.

So what you're saying is that a modern take on Stephen King's Christine is going to require a Tesla?

President Trump has announced that he would like to meet with the family of rapist pedophile Jacob Blake.
Trump stated that he "didn't like the sight of [Blake receiving justice from the police for his rape and assault spree]"
He’s just using this for cover to jailbreak Kyle Rittenhouse. 2954F918-151B-41D6-96EE-B11438580BE1.jpeg

Oh good. The navy would be dependent on some creek through Chicago. Sounds like a plan.

This is what happens when the mob gets push back. Florida doesn't fuck around. ~14 seconds in.

Floridians are a breed of their own. People want to be left alone and will do crazy things when pushed. People in Florida are nice and consistent, but even in the most typical upper middle class suburban neighbourhood, even in west Broward—the most pozzed of Florida blue counties—will every third homeowner own a firearm despite never giving the hint of having one.

It's tempting but you can't blame blacks for everything; There were plently of White Northeners that were all for the end of segregation.... until the blacks moved next door to them, whoops.
One thing I've always found funny that people don't seem to realize about segregation. If desegregation was a good thing, it would have happened thousands of years ago and outside of a few rare isolated ethnic groups, humans would be one universal race. That didn't happen in history because just like today, whenever you have multi-ethnic societies they being to collapse under social strife until some power forcefully segregates the populations.
