Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Canadian flu deaths are typically 500-1500 (https://ipac-canada.org/influenza-resources.php)

Canada also had a lockdown and people wore masks to prevent covid, they did neither for H1N1 in 2009.

Health Canada tracks Influenza and "Influenza-related Pnuemonia" deaths as one Category. In 2018, over 8,000 deaths were counted. (I can't remember the exact number from Health Canada, I think it was just shy of 9K). Now, in what would have been the 2019 flu season, those deaths have likely all been rolled into the COVID death count in Canada.*

*Actually not mad at you coming up with the "wrong" source on this one. Google wasn't likely to point you to Health Canada.

RE: Masks - No we didn't. You know when people started wearing masks in Canada? August 1st.

I check the numbers for my location pretty much every day. My entire nation is an average of 5 'rona deaths a day, and we have a population of 35 million. My province has a population of 14.5 million. Of that 14.5 million, 42 000 had it, 38 000 recovered, about 2900 died, so there are about 1000-1500 people wth it right now. Your chances of encountering someone with a positive test are so slim, it baffles me that we're still doing all this shit, and whenever I say it'll probably be over in a month or two, everyone calls me an idiot, and ohhhhh that second wave is coming any week now, better keep the masks on for another year. Fear sells, and they've bought it. There's a healthy level of caution, and then there's these people, that are just removed from reality and living in fear, and I'm just over it

Okay, for quick clarification this doesn't mean COVID only killed ~11,000 - this just means 11,000 or so of those deaths are COVID-only.
This means the real number sits between 11,000 - 180,000.
You can't say for sure COVID did kill them, you can't say for sure COVID didn't kill them (without looking at each on a case-by-case individual basis) - just that COVID was one of several "suspects" present at the time of death.

PSA: When you go and assume that COVID didn't kill the other 94% of deaths, you are no better than the people claiming "died with COVID = died from COVID".
_________________________________________________________________
That being said, yeah no shit.
You combine that with hospitals marking "died with" as "died from", and counting deaths that were "untested but assumed COVID", then you have the perfect shitstorm of over-inflated numbers.

The flu kills like 30k in a very bad year.

Sorry no, you are not getting away with that shit.

The average of all years charted is 37,462 deaths. There are two years under 30k estimated Flu deaths.

So, no Hulk, 30k is not a "very bad year". It is reasonable expectation of deaths in the US.

Now, this is a little nitpicky but I am kind of tired of you stating things as though they are fact when they are not and it is easily proven that they are not facts.

Kind of like you saying Trump did nothing but try to shutdown travel from China when the disease is already here.

He got corporations to ramp up production and convert to production of PPE and Ventilators. He sent hospital ships to NY and LA.

Just another example of you being provably wrong.

Of course that does not matter to you because Orange Man Bad and WuFlu is the end of the world because you work in medicine and have totally true anecdotal evidence.

>"200,000 Americans have died from the Pinko Plague!"
>"NOOOOOOO you can't give the vaccine to Americans first, that NAAAASHUNULLISUMMMM!"

Its clear at this point big pharma, hospitals, the media and governments are in cahoots with each other to inflate the numbers for their own political and finantial gain. They go to relatives of the dead and tell them they can cover all funeral expenses if they sign a contract allowing them to count the relative's death as corona. I feel anyone who signs it is a piece of shit (tho the ones that at least exposed this scam by confessing are slightly better) but the doctors who offer it are even worse. Shit like this makes me now hate doctors.

2020 seriously is begging to make me hate blacks, women, jews, lawers, governor, mayors and...fuck, the list doesnt fucking end.

seriously, can you give me proof that covid alone kills people? If everything is death with Covid exarcerbarating underlying conditions, then thats it. It means grandmas, deathfats, faggot bugchaser and others people with illness should be the one quarantining. Let everyone else live their lives and work.

Why should everyone give up thier fucking freedom to enjoy life or work for a living for these people? They have a problem, rest of the world doesnt.

I work in medicine and he's 100% right. It should shock no one, but the ones REEEEEEEEEEEEing about a conspiracy here don't know how medical chart documentation works
I don't think you work in medicine, I'm under the impression that you just work in a hospital as a janitor.

They're trying to outlaw it by regulating it to death SUPER FUCKING QUICKLY.
  • You aren't allowed to hire a tutor for your kid.
That's insane. Hired tutors have existed for thousands of years. How are you supposed to teach advanced topics without a tutor? Hold a five minute class, adjourn for the day, then bring in the tutor for a few hours of after-school coaching?

When it gets to court, what will be the government's rational basis for not letting parents hire tutors for their children?
