The only thing I can think of here, is that they must think that a significant percentage of Biden's potential voter base is still sheltered from the non-mainstream riot narrative, and that they are getting out ahead of them realizing what's really going on, and recognizing that these people are open to believing whatever you tell them about trump.

The National Guard can be activated by either the state (title 32 activation) or federal (title 10 activation) governments. I believe that a fed order will override a state order. I also believe it requires a fed activation to send the NG across state lines.

This sort of about-face from the media only serves to prove how monolithic they actually aren't. If their constant, iron grip around the narrative was fool-proof and pushing the population in the direction that they wanted, they'd never need to redirect their narratives. They might tweak it here and there to refine the lies, but they wouldn't need to fucking Tokyo Drift into a 180-degree turn.

If things were going their way, they had this shit on lockdown and the public believed what the media was saying, why would they ever have to pivot on a dime and run the other direction like this? It's because people aren't listening to them and the news industry is not as influential as it pretends to be. Public perception and approval of BLM didn't die because the public believed what the media was saying, it died because the people aren't getting their news from CNN.

I left my previous Church because I was chaperoning our high school youth at the national convention for the national affilate the church was with. This was before IdPol/SocJus was mainstream by about 5 years or so. The closing prayer by the leader of the national group prayed that IdPol and SocJus stuff would happen. I was horrified at that, one of the core tenants of the group was "pray that Gods will be done not your will be done" yet here was the bishop prying for his will to be done not God's.

Trump can send reinforcements. The governor's can activate their national guard units.

Fed activation > State.
The NG does not need to cross state lines for Federal activation .
When the Little Rock Nine happened, the Arkansas governor activated the NG to stop the students from entering the school, Eisenhower then federally activated the Arkansas NG and ordered them to assist the 101st in their mission to protect the Little Rock Nine.
Also NG units were federally activated for Corona and AFAIK at least some if not all Federally activated units did not leave their states.
