The Lies videos are a general thing since early Extra Histories. They're a combination of Mistakes that people pulled them up on, acknowledgement of 'creative interpretations', side stories that didn't make the cut, etc.

Man, you might not be wrong but it'll be the opposite. Linus of Linus Tech Tips made a post extolling how good race mixing was and how every white person should mix races.

Sign of narcissism I guess, instead just of viewing current situation as a statement of a greater frustration in the state of things (virus, debt, start of depression, rampant corporate oligarchy, increasingly brutal police state) in the United States from a large group of the population, people like Extra Credits, and many other e-personalities, see it as an opportunity to self promote themselves and put THEIR voice out there and pretend that somehow those words matter and shape the course of current events. Instead of looking at things and processing it like a normal human being would (either side of politics) their immediate thought is "What can I do to get attention from this and paint myself in the best possible way so I publically look like a good person and receive the praise for being a good person?"
It can cause some severe recessive genetic issues, and the resulting children can't get major organ and bone marrow transplants from anyone except someone of the appropriate racial admixture.
It's because there's so much agreement about it that they want to hop on the band wagon to show how righteous they are. Extra Credits has been a bunch of holier-than-thou fucks for a long time, now they get to virtue signal and probably get popular support for it instead of getting mocked and torn apart? Of course they're all over that! That they were able to make the lowest effort new video they've ever done is just a bonus.
At first I thought the Video did not load properly but just a black screen? God damn it. And of course those pussies disable comments and Rating. Well I did cast a downvote just to give my feedback. They could have made a simple Video saying "We stand against Police brutality and demand a fair and impartial trial. We also want our Police to be better!" Stuff like that would turn a lot of poeple around. But noooooo sir we need to virtue Signal. What is wrong in this world?
