I’m from a black family that came about from a rural area. Our family holds strong values regarding education, and pursuing competency in what will give us a fruitful and maintainable lives.

From nothing, pretty much all my older relatives have had fulfilling lives free of crime. For my generation, those around my age are doing.. okay. I found that the more indulged in “black culture” they were, the less favorable their life outlook was. The aggressive “do what you want” attitude led to one a many baby-mamas, and I’m pretty sure one of my cousins is a full on gangbanger now.
I used to get a lot of shit for being nerdy, “talking white,” and not being in the loop of black culture. Now that I’m doing well for myself, they have nothing to say to me that doesn’t remind them of their failures. It used to upset me that I couldn’t relate to black kids my age, but I realized that there was no point in trying to relate to those who choose to self destruct because I wanted to make something of myself.

Black Culture is a bucket of crabs, and I refuse to take part in it for that reason. They want to live in squalor

TL;DR- Black communities don’t want to be better. They pull each other down, and if you’re doing okay, they want to pull you down, too.

But people like you are why I cannot 1488 fire up Buchenwald again. People either want me to be racist or hate being white, but I cannot do either and never have. I think we can all agree that no knock warrants are bullshit and get handed out like candy since the Bush/Obama eras and will only lead to more situations like the Taylor one. They used to be used only on like really hardcore drug dealers and gangs, now they'd might as well be M&M's, anyone defending their overuse is an idiot.

They're a good tool but not something that should be used so fucking freely because the whole situation could've been avoided if the police had identified themselves.

I can see it in the sense of they have a high opinion on themselves and their views of the world don't match with reality (like chanting at cops to quit their jobs or being shocked that someone basically took up the role of armed security of CHAZ that wasn't totally down with CHAZ and some businesses fight back or say that BLM runs protection rackets). A bit strange, but I think police WANT to conduct no knock raids so they can stack up more charges if the subject of the raid does something like go for a gun because they don't know it's the police. I have to imagine a raid against an armed offender looks better on a police record than an unarmed one.

I'm sure some do, some it's a power trip and the idea that the suspect could destroy evidence are all true. However I don't believe just because some jackass wants a feather in his cap or some hypothetical flushing of drugs means that every yahoo with a badge should just kick in people's doors and not announce they're police. I find it wrong, and I'm not even saying that there shouldn't be no-knock warrants but they should be a very small minority of those handed out and only in rare circumstances.

A potentially dirty EMT asleep in her home with her boyfriend is not one of them and the execution of that warrant just made the situation worse for everyone involved. It was a fuck up and an avoidable one with no justification for the no-knock over a standard warrant search.

His thing is being the most extreme of being judge, jury and executioner that follows no politics. [The Last Stand]

The one thing that can be definitively said about Taylor is that she had poor judgement for who she let into her life. No-knock raids are a tactic that have an almost unacceptable risk for collateral damage. It's one thing to use that tactic to clear hostiles in urban combat, another entirely when used to get the jump on suspects, especially in castle doctrine/stand your ground states.

It's a shame she got hit in the crossfire, but perhaps she shouldn't have let drug dealers into her life.

Sad state of affairs about that whole episode is that Taylor is essentially a meme at this point. She will get randomly mentioned in social media non sequitur in a meme. "Oh a kid was shot riding his bike but BREANNA TAYLOR!" Just out of nowhere.

It does raise the question of no knock raids and police militarization. As it should. Now she is a mere martyr and talking point for all this rioting to happen. Even more heartbreaking she is now associated with actual criminals that the police engaged with.

I frankly find it another form of disrespecting the dead. I doubt things will change the way the mob wants them to, supposedly. At that point, they are to blame.
