reddit General

Redditor has a problem with California legalizing small-scale restaurants, apparently legalizing that along with ride share/chore apps, legalizing marijuana is going to lead to America's downfall while China focuses on the "important things" like 5G and AI. Apparently running your own microbusiness/restaurant and engaging in free enterprise will lead to your downfall and you'll get sued or some other shit.

Looking through their post history, it's of course Reddit day trading faggotry mixed in with bugman screeching.

I've been following r/LockdownSkeptism for a while now and they've been pretty successful so-far in implementing a no-politics rule
So of course a rogue lefty comes along and starts posting TDS and gets a bunch of pushback. What's a lefty to do? Complain about the sub getting too political!

Lots of Australian police bootlicking and mocking anybody who DARES to question the lockout. This includes some assorted childfree and accusations thrown around of "You don't like BLM!"
The /r/"""libertarian""" thread has one person saying that anti lockdown sentiment is actually hard right authoritarian (what?) and somebody being downvote bombed for saying that he's glad we have the Bill of Rights and that a Biden administration would do the same as in Australia.
Every post in this thread could end with fuck reddit.

A reddit tactic I've noticed is claiming that anybody who disagrees with you is coming from or brigading from /r/conservative, even if it's been subverted by chapo refugrees. /r/libertarian (again) suffers from this. It's terminal.

> So much for AI, 5G, and other shit that matters. Food, sex, drugs, and animals. That's what we're being based on. Is this peak capitalism?

I'm willing to bet $100 that this asshole is getting a super dumb degree in communication, gender studies, or theater arts... INSTEAD OF THE STEM FIELD :story:

Not that strange when you realize what a powermod ghislaine maxwell was. The people that shaped reddit the last couple of years....

Bro, ever since "Fake News" became a known term, fact-checking has been being taught. At least in college. And, in my experience, the further Left the teacher is the more they hammer this home.
This has, unsurprisingly, started to backfire on them. What started as the teachers saying "DON'T TRUST WHAT ANYONE TELLS YOU! DO YOUR RESEARCH TO NOT FALL INTO DRUMPFS HANDS!" lead to the students saying, "Yo, dawg. I did what you said and found these things called 'The Drone Papers', and 'The Patriot Act', and 'How Laws Work', and 'Insane Trans People', and 'How You Fuckers Spend My Money'..."

Obligatory:

This is why they're literally telling people now to STOP researching on their own and just trust experts (which experts though?) and trust the mainstream news.

It all started with that one guy who suggested I watch what amazing dancers Israeli's are....

Yeah this is common in the Netherlands too. Don't trust anything online, ONLY trust the government funded news broadcast.

Thus is more of their oppression narrative. They're always being brigaded, they're under attack by Faux News (Faux, because it's FAKE LOL), they're being killed by Trump supporters every day, among other tall tales. Their weakness is their strength.

Faux Nooz Bad is baby's first media criticism.
And they don't even know that Right-wingers hate them too, not for being "ebil nazi propaganda," but because they intentionally smooth over anti-globalist and populist sentiments to stop the Right from confronting real issues. The only good show on Fox is Tucker.

Do right-wingers watch RT and OAN nowadays as new alternatives for Fox now?

Some do. There's also stuff like Blaze TV, rebel TV, and other streaming services online which are getting popular with the right wing. Not to mention all the sites being blacklisted as "the fake news" like breitbart.

Some of what you hear on the right wing news is not true, but the mainstream media can't claim being better by any means, they lie too much on TV, and are both leftwing and corporatist.

I think one of the most important things is just having someone with an opposing view that isn't part of the same echo chamber circle jerk on TV.

Mostly OAN and Breitbart, plus e-celebs who do news breakdowns like Dan Bongino. I don't think anyone really watches RT in America.
I see Americans share blog articles from RT but that's about it. Also I would consider RT more leftist because of their content, which includes stuff like "Russia should go back to communism because it was so much better" and other nonsense that isn't true.

Millions died under communism, and any journalist suggesting it's OK is a fucking lunatic.

I hear it's ran on the Russian governments dollar, so of course that would be common. It only appears based to anyone in the west because Russia is associated with traditionalism.

You're correct, the US/UK version of RT news is 99.9% state funded. The country of Russia runs a whole English language news website directed at Americans and Europeans. It's basically the Russian Al-Jazeera. RT likes to do a lot of commentary pieces about America despite, you know, not living there. They feel they are experts on how the USA should be run. Al-Jazeera also presents itself as this "objective" news source, buuuuuut it's literally the project of a bunch of Saudi oil barons and the Saudi Arabian royal family/politicians. (and granted they run mundane, normal stories, too, but the bias is clear)

They both run a very noticeable, suspicious amount of shit that's anti-American. They're both state funded. Al-Jazeera is notorious for running videos with white and Caucasian people to seem like the BBC, and then having them drone about how America is some hellhole/shithole. Bonus points for Al-Jazeera running hit pieces on America's race stuff, and immigration laws, and then following up with "AMERICA IS RACIST AGAINST MUSLIMS" They want people in America to forget 9/11 happened, and also want Americans to turn a blind eye to the massive sex abuse of women/human rights issues in the middle east, pretend no Muslims are terrorists blowing up schools, etc.

Now is a good time to mention (once again) that Reddit is suspicious as fuck, too, as to how it's funded and run.
