If it was the Security Squad, then they'd take him out themselves if they're with Antifa. If anything, it'd be the feds trying to monitor and try to find a way to arrest and get federal charges. Antifa to me seems like the type who'd also kill themselves to avoid spilling names or connections, so I'm not sure if this guy went to his gun to duke it out, or bait a response where they'd have no choice but to shoot him.

In defensive shooting you fire until the target goes down as fast as you can reliably put rounds on target, with long guns like an AR-15 type rifle it's pretty easy to get five or so rounds out extremely fast in semiauto and very accurately. You have two or three shooters engaging one active threat and firing until it goes down you can get some pretty high round counts. Not saying it's okay with how frequently this occurs with American police but this was a target that allegedly gunned a man down, possibly in cold blood already. If he didn't surrender and went to grab a weapon of some kind or made a move like he was going to, well he's gonna get the hammer of god.

Well the footage of his last stand isn't exactly out in the wild so if he was out in the woods, he got bored of it real quick, or assumed for some reason that nobody would come for him. It's still weird that he thought a filmed interview was a good idea or that the Vice journalist sympathetic to him also thought it was a good idea.

I dunno, the London Riots were full of Joggers - but it turned out they were using services like WhatsApp or Blueberry messaging to cover their tracks. I assume Antifa do cover their tracks to some degree, but I imagine some people will be fretting over if the police got this guy's digital divices and can use it to find who he was talking to.

Is there a charge for perverting the course of justice in the US like there is in the UK? Is VICE going to be in trouble or literally get alway with Lionizing a killer?

You also need to remember how much adrenaline can do to the body. It was brought up earlier in the thread the story about that guy who took over 14 rounds from cops before he finally went down. And he still lived afterwards.
