Well the footage of his last stand isn't exactly out in the wild so if he was out in the woods, he got bored of it real quick, or assumed for some reason that nobody would come for him. From what I've read, the Marshals moved in in their vehicles, he was inside a house and saw them coming, ran outside to a car, got in, got out with a rifle, opened fire on the Marshals, got ventilated.

Don't assume anything is correct until 72 hours after it happened.

While we wish the story could be accurately told at the speed of the Internet, that's not the way media works. People need time to be wrong, correct facts, deliberately lie, be debunked and argue before you have a clear picture.

From what I've seen in videos from police, they haven't confirmed that Reinoehl fired any shots, but they have definitely said he pulled out a gun when he saw police. Ngo is saying he fired, but I haven't seen that confirmed elsewhere yet.
