We still have local news. It's just all smoke and mirrors. It still Action News 8 or what have you, but it's hollow. There is no news room or beat reporters hunting down leads on some local political scandal. The only instate employees are the on air talent. And I'm in a top 50 market.
Media conglomerates like Nexstar that own 170+ local stations just apply the same template everywhere and do everything by remote control.
