Does anyone know if the police have like their own camera crew or people there taking video and pictures of the protestors (besides undercover people)? I feel like it might be good PR to have live-streams from the cops to show what is REALLY going on. ANTIFA sends their “independent journalist corps” which is really just their propaganda arm so any police brutality is already going to be broadcast. But you don’t see the context or what’s really going on that ANTIFA doesn’t want to show you.

I’m surprised there isn’t some way to temporarily ban umbrellas, shields, and other riot items when people protest. We can make it illegal to not wear a stupid fucking mask, I don’t see how banning stuff people use to riot (only specifically when people are protesting)

Oh good. The Public safety building is literally right next to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Monroe County Jail. The police can literally walk some of these rioters right to their cells.

The umbrellas are less for protection (although some idiots might think so) and more for literally covering up crimes in progress. I've seen some rioters huddle together and open their umbrellas to surround someone doing something nefarious.

PPB now have videographers but it took them a while to get that going, I've only noticed over the last month or so. They have the long poles with gopros on the end I think.

They were specifically barred from livestreaming under Oregon laws a while back but apparently whatever they are doing now isn't livestreamed, at least not publicly and the grear setup definitely differs from anything I saw previous.

It was mentioned last night that part of the arrest strategy the protesters are calling "targeted arrests" involves the cameras so my guess is that PPB are streaming privately and someone is keeping track of footage and using it to point out to the boots on the ground who to pick up, because the arrests are happening quite some minutes after the crimes they are being arrested for were committed.
