I had to look into who that was. I'm not shocked to know that a (D) is completely clueless to current affairs.
For something else to quote me on, apparently "get woke, go broke" isn't really applicable when going woke can be more lucrative than your current state, Tim Pool calls this "if broke, try woke".
"If broke, try woke" worked for Colin Kapernick since he went from being a ho-hum football player with no profile during his 49ers tenure to being Nike's spokesperson (even getting a sponsored clothing line as of late) all at the cost of putting out the occasional "orange man bad" Twitter post.
However, the NFL
hasn't been interested in having Colin back on the 49ers which says that Colin finds the Nike sponsorship to be more lucrative than playing football for his shillings.
Another thing to note is the uptick in people talking about "orange man bad" since COVID-19 first broke out.
Presumably because celebrity attention-grabbing attempts were either feeling disconnected at best to cringeworthy (like that recent "Imagine" cover) at worst. This was before realizing that their competition is just people on Twitter making hot takes about "the don" while plugging their donation box.
Not to knock on people actually doing good work for donations (they may do good), but there are a lot of people that get money for dogging on the president via plugging donation boxes.
I've compared Stephen Colbert to the likes of Jimmy Swaggart, but there have been more donation boxes popping up in recent weeks, especially from one-person hot-take factories. Be careful who you donate to...
