Ralph's statement is ultimately pointless. Aside from the obvious lies it would have made sense if Vickers had threatened to release something to embarrass him (which he preemptively tried to say it was doctored) , but Vickers was quite clear he was going to go to the cops.
Whatever it was, it obviously made him nervous.

At this point (if he really did turn things over to the cops) I think that the best thing the Vickers can do is to not give Faith any more attention. She either gets off on their misery or she is so out of touch that getting high and playing video games without having to work/study is a bigger priority to her than anyone in her family.
So just let them sweat it out waiting for the other shoe to drop when they least expect it.

I understand why they've done what they've done so far and don't blame them, but they've said everything that needed to be said and if the next step is a legal one, it would be best to let it run its course.

No judge would grant a restraining order against parents that are cut off from contacting their daughter like they are in this situation, plus there's not a single thing they've said that would classify as harassment.
Anything else would mean that Ralph has to spend what little money he has on lawyers (which he'll never do) and Vickers (who actually has a real lawyer) can afford to sink money into it until Ralph is broke.
These are the usual empty threats from Ralph because he has nothing else and he is terrified like the coward he is.

I think a restraining order would be a complete waste of effort, time and money. A restraining order will not limit the Vickers freedom of speech, it could limit any physical or communication between the parties, but at this point it appears that they have no means of communication with Faith, other than through the Gunt. Escalation of the matter into the legal realm, could be very hazardous for both Ralph and Faith, both have made disparaging remarks about the Vickers family. Ralph could easily bring himself into a defamation suit.

Not sure what they think they may sue the Vickers for. Lets say its for the property that Faith claims is hers, can she prove any of that? The Vickers have already claimed they paid for both the laptop and phone, which means they also own any data contained on those devices. This is why all your devices should be encrypted with a fairly strong password, you may gain access to the physical device but the information should be secured.

I think Daddy Dick will tell him not to do that but instead to let the Vickers make the first move in the hope that they fuck it up, Maddox style.

Unfortunately for him, Matt Vickers seems like he's not a complete idiot and could probably shaft him via the legal system if it comes to that. Hell, I bet Vickers could get the Gunt locked up with an email to Ralph's probation officer if he really wanted to.

If I was Ralph I'd be concerned about exactly this possibility and would go to great lengths to avoid being provoked by Vickers. Of course, Ralph, being Ralph, assumes that he can shit talk everyone publically and then brag about how easily he defeated them. The possibility that he'll eventually run into someone who can ruin his life when he does this is completely outside his comprehension.

Come to think of it, Ralph might snap if Faith nags him enough and file some ill-considered legal action and bring down the wrath of Vickers upon him. The end result of that will be that his $50K will end up leaving with Faith.
