Faith comes off to me like every sheltered 18-20 year old. They think because they're technically an adult they deserve to be given respect and taken seriously. When in reality they have not accomplished anything in their life yet. They also still have that cringey disdain for their parents. The craziest thing to me is how anyone over the age of like 22 doesnt realize this. Mr Vickers is completely correct when he said Ralph really is 15 mentally. Ralph putting up with all of this just makes me more curious about his life. How can you be over 30 and so mentally stunted?
Think the attitude isn't sheltering per se as having no real hardship. When your biggest concern is having to babysit your brothers too much and you don't have to worry about where your next meal is, this is a larping, slummy adventure. 'I'm going to show my parents'. But you don't want to admit you've done that, so you go all out.

I understand the Vickers going the route they did, but at the same time, I don't think at this point she would be willing to go home since she can't save face. Maybe if people ignored them, she would go home, but it's gone too far at this point. It's too real. And I feel bad because they are all hurt people lashing out in a variety of ways. Now it's a sideshow for strangers to make money off of family trauma.

They should just meet somewhere in the middle of the country - don't tell social media - and talk it out. Spend days. Get to know each other. Talk about the future. Go over the finances. Talk about health. If you really love each other, make the parents feel the love and know their daughter will be taken care of. Try to have some actual empathy and stop trying to own people. Perhaps you had a shitty family life, but realize you are destroying someone who may not have. Think about how if you have kids, they will be close to the same age to her brothers. Think about your mortality, and if you want to prove it to her parents how sincere you are, get some life insurance with Faith as beneficiary in case you kick the bucket and have some kind of actual asset you can borrow against in an emergency. You all say you are adults? Then be adults.

Does anyone know the legality behind the actions Mr Vickers took? The accessing of Faiths accounts? Obviously its his property, the phone and laptop, but what about accessing the data? Does that belong to her or him because its his device? And because that data was mostly on servers (discord) before they exported it, would that matter? Come on reeeekeeiiita help us out here!

As for the protective order, they are cheap as shit to do for anyone. But they are short lived until you have to pay for a longer one, as mentioned by @TherapyMan unironically if I were the gunt (bit of a disgusting idea to imagine that), I would be looking into doing that.

While you are right on the cost, what judge would look at the facts and believe that there's a reason for a restraining order? She's not in contact with her family, the threats have been one sided on Ralph's part (except for Vickers saying he'll go to the cops) and as much as Ralph and Faith want to pretend, the Vickers have not done or shared anything illegal.
I can't imagine a restraining order sticking with the amount of evidence that Vickers has on his side.

I don't try to predict the outcome of a legal matter. I will say this, though: the complicated untangling of the facts from an uninformed third party will be difficult. Imagine you're Judge RalphsFailingKidneys, and you've never heard of Ethan Ralph. You receive a piece of paper asking for a 15-day restraining order, which only details The Gunt's side of the story. Based on this, you grant the preliminary restraining order, and set to have a hearing between the parties once it expires. When the time of the hearing arrives, the Gunt and child bride come in tow, along with two middle-aged Californians (I'm assuming the Vickers would fly out to fight this). Each is saying the other is a horrible abuser, a manipulative liar, and they're desperately trying to get you to look at their phones screenshots for carefully curated exchanges that show the other is a monster.

How fucking confused are you? We Kiwis have the benefit of looking at events as they occur linearly and in excruciating detail. But the judge would have only this brief, fleeting snapshot on what the fuck is going on, based on what two involved parties are saying about one another. Who knows how it could turn out?

The fact that she claims to not want to be in contact with them while they do internet live streams and send tweetstorms at her is probably enough. She's barely on social media and doesn't direct any communication at them except for the statement. To an outsider it's going to seem like she's just trying to protect herself from lunatics who are "hacking" her cellphone and laptop.

This hostage video is one of the single most fucked up things I have ever seen, arguably even more fucked up than the sextape.

And yes, it should be called a hostage video and nothing else. She is clearly reading a message he typed out for her to read.

This is the Gunt's message to the Vickers family and both their daughter's message to them.

I find this severely fucked up. A disgusting addict using someone's daughter like some sick bargaining chip in a negotiation over his already shattered online credibility.
See I can't dismiss blame on Faith. I genuinely think she's a giant piece of shit. There's part of me that thinks that her and Ralph deserve each other, and the squalor they build together.

Sure Ralph wrote that shit, but the cunt read it. I still think Ralph is the one in danger here. If they get married and god forbid breed his life is over, not that it ever started.

So I go to bed, and 18 minutes later, Fai Fai drops her script. I wake up to 22 new pages, the Vickers on the full warpath and some INSANE moralfagging going on for what felt like forever in this thread.

I cant make any jokes or digs that havent been made by others. Im not THAT original. I cant even deconstruct her statement because the others have done it so well and bring up all my points.

Im done trying to speak to Ralph, to Gator and I wont even try to talk to Faith. No more advice from a troll on the internet. No more feels other then for the parents.

Ill just say, in a day and age where Blockbuster is gone, and every single studio and network tries to make their own streaming service and nickle and dime me just to see a few shows I want. Where shit is always exclusive like its a good thing, at the very least? I dont have to pay for what is some of the best reality TV since He Will Not Divide us. Gotta count my blessings I guess.

Easy. One party is a convicted felon and the other are a teenage girls' parents
