Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Is that how mask-wearing became ingrained in Chinese culture? They just had so many Wu Flu like events that people simply adapted to their normal?
Wearing a mask has been a common courtesy thing in Asian countries for quite a long time. Like if they are not feeling well or just want to be on the safe side for any given reason. But the key is that they choose to wear them or not, unlike the dickheads that fucking demand you wear the propaganda muzzles or else.

Fuck this as another childless person who doesn’t even like Halloween that much. I was talking to someone recently who said they feared Halloween being cancelled and here we are. Who takes Halloween away from kids?!
Joyless assholes who cloak their vindictive actions in a shroud of moral "superiority" and "helping" the public.

Just watch, I'm sure they'll try their damndest to interfere with people celebrating Thanksgiving and the Holiday season.

They're definitely going to try. Halloween is the first victim, and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they get even more totalitarian and attempt to close down airports and block off state crossings to prevent people from traveling and committing the heinous crime of seeing their families for the holidays. And any normie and NPC that screeched about masks and social distancing and then complains about these restrictions can shove it up their ass. Their blatant compliance is what allowed things to get to this point in the first place.

Lie in the fucking bed you made.

You’re not fooling anyone, Governor Nipple Rings.

Oh FFS BORIS. Seriously? No more than six unless it's schools, workplaces weddings, funerals .... just what. Either all gatherings are a risk or none are. Eight hours in an office with twenty people is no less of a risk than ten people sat together at the pub.
I was looking forward to returning to uni before this, because even if my lectures were all online at least I could still go to socials and training sessions. Now it looks like I’ll be paying £9250 for the privilege of sitting in my room for an entire year.

Yeah it is, but only when they actually have a head cold with actual symptoms. And tbqh, it doesn't seem to prevent the ususl colds and flu from doing the rounds any less than in countries who don't normally mask up when they have the sniffles.

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) -- Gov. Greg Abbott is poised to address this week reopening businesses in Texas. Currently, capacity limits, most at 50%, are being stipulated for a lot of customer-facing services.

There are also constraints that have effectively shut down bars for the time being.
With an Abbott announcement forthcoming, one Houston-area county judge is making his case for not just raising capacity and reopening certain businesses. He wants a 100% reopening.

Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough, whose county, as of Monday, has counted more than 9,100 COVID-19 cases and 123 deaths, posted video giving his reasons for a full capacity reopening of the state. You can watch the full message in the video player above.

Keough addressed how his county dealt with orders at the beginning of the pandemic, citing mixed messaging with capacity limits. He stated that the messages he received to lock down were based on preventing overwhelmed emergency rooms.

He then offered his examination of coronavirus cases, saying that the majority of them required home recoveries rather than hospitalizations.

"We did the 'stay-at-home.' And our goal was to do what they told us to do, was to stem the tide, stop the spread, flatten the curve, don't overwhelm the hospitals," Keough said in his video. "By April 17, what I discovered was this: most people who had the virus are not sent to the hospital. They're sent home."

With his own analysis, he offered a 10% statistic for those COVID-19 cases that were sent to the hospital.

He then offered up this statistic: "And then I discovered at that same time, I went back and checked the numbers, that 99% of the people who are testing positive for the coronavirus, you know what, they're surviving. The survival rate is 99%."

That same percentage, Keough says, also applies to the most recent case numbers.

"And what's really interesting ... I looked at yesterday's most recent numbers. And guess what the percentage is of the people surviving: 99%."

While Texas' numbers show a 2% mortality rate with the virus, that equates from more than 13,400 deaths and more than 638,000 cases. Despite the findings, the county showed more people are contracting the virus. As of Sunday, there were 14.93 cases for every 1,000 people in the county.

In a broader look, the U.S. mortality rate is 3%, according to Johns Hopkins University. But that equates to nearly 190,000 deaths.

Nevertheless, Keough then addressed Abbott directly.

"You know what we're not going to survive," Keough urged the governor. "We're not going to survive the destruction of our economy ... when is this madness going to end?"

He continued, "I'm pleading with you. I'm pleading with you on behalf of the people of Montgomery County and the rest of the state of Texas. If you're going to do something, open us up 100%. Don't piecemeal this."

And to close, he offered an additional personal analysis: 94% of the coronavirus deaths involved someone with an underlying condition.

"Ninety-four percent already had something that was driving them to their death bed," he said.

Keough's messaging has been one he repeated during an in-person luncheon with the North Shore Republican Women organization last week. Community Impact Newspapers reported on Keough's claims of political motivation behind the orders.

"God created us for community. Listen: He didn't create us to stuff ourselves into a house and be alone all day," Keough said. "Why do you think this is all happening? If you don't think this is political, you are not paying attention."

Montgomery County's case total is in the top 20 Texas counties out of 251 that has reported a case.

All of this is the faggier version of Deus Ex. We get a shitty plague that targets the old and chronic ill people and the most body augmentations can do is cutting a hole into someone's former penis region and calling it a day.

I feel like the democrats are switching positions again. Why is it that a lot of them are anti-vaccine at least as far as covid-19 goes? I mean if I can avoid a shot I will but these are exactly the people who would normally shout at me to take the vaccine or I am murderer.

Because the media doesn't generally know how clinical trials work.

You can cut a trial short if your intervention is proven effective in the treatment group. You start giving it to the control group. This is standard practice. Nothing wrong about this.

Now, if there's a ton of adverse reactions in the treatment group and Trump leans on the FDA to rush it through anyway then yeah fuck that.

Twitter has #TrumpKnew trending because supposedly there was a big "gotcha!" moment where Trump says he's aware of Corona-Chan being a bad thing back in February? I think.
Why is this news?
*I* knew the Corona Cooties was a thing back in February. Why wouldn't the President Of The United States have heard of it?

Christmas is next, everyone...I said it here first.
They already took out Easter, Christmas has been on their sights ever since.

Edit: I cant wait to hear the clapping seals over them "owning" Halloween and how "Christmas is next, just you wait, racists!". Way to stand up for the holiday that was responsible for most people's foundest memories, assholes.

Edit 2: Im sorry but I dont think I will be able to survive the horror and cringe of seeing images of Santa wearing a mask, which no doubt will be everywhere this year...

Cuz they be despered to have any sort of sense of superiority over Trump, especially with the election coming and him losing looking more and more unlikely.

Yeah no shit, Twitter. He established the Coronavirus Task Force on January 29th, back when everyone in the DNC and the media was still encouraging people to go to parades and eat Chinese take-out and pack into movie theatres.

And smearing everyone that so much as mention where the virus came from as racist.

"Hug a Chinese Person", anyone?
