I assume it did gangbusters in France. Children are allowed to consent to sex even though it is loudly touted that the minimum age is 15. Children under 15 can still consent to sex and it would be up to a judge to decide if a rapist coerced/threatened/etc them into having sex. They just passed a new law in 2018 that gave even broader latitude to prosecute child rapists, but staunchly refused to establish a minimum age of consent. There is case history that going too young, like 5-6, would pretty much guarentee a rape conviction even before the latest law was passed.
