They tightened the lockdown in the North of England first, now they're tightening it in the Midlands. I'm not sure if Manchester was hit by the Northern lockdown, but if it was 2/3 of the big cultural cities in England are under extra lockdown rules.

I do think that this whole lockdown and masks have become a simple matter of choice at this point...

Maybe if the Pakis are all riled up than the lockdowns will be deemed Islamophobic and everyone can go back to their lives.

That would lead to what I call "Liberal hits itself in confusion!" situations.

The moment they know that they are cornered with a "liberal paradox" so they either suffer a mental breakdown or they get pissed while trying to still somehow justify it (or both). They know there is no easy logical answer so their only remaining option is to relay on extreme emotion.

Edit: An example is "Islam is right about women". It places them in a position that either they go against islam or feminism since they know deep down both of these contradict each other. They get confused and angry, but cant quite explain why logically, making them come off as clueless idiots (which is what they are).

There are only a few ways out of this quagmire. Herd immunity has been the traditional endpoint for past viral pandemics as it occurs relatively quickly. Sweden has likely achieved herd immunity without shutting down as did their neighbors.
Israeli Professor Isaac Ben-Israel used statistical analysis demonstrating, “The spread of COVID-19 peaks after about 40 days and declines to almost zero after 70 days — no matter where it strikes, and no matter what measures governments impose to try to thwart it.”

My coworkers at my new job are all covid panicked TDSers. One is a straight up karen. Dude is slightly younger than me and autistic. One guy brought up not being to paranoid and I brought up my friends being paranoid despite not being high risk.

"Umm ackshually thats a really dangerous mindset. Theres no scientific basis to say someone is high risk. Were all equally at risk" cue lecture about how we need to believe experts and if you don't care enough about covid your a dangerous selfish sociopath. I hate humans

I'm a nerd with no social life and I hate this stuff. Society now has rapidly changing expectations regarding the wearing of masks, the design and material of the masks, staying indoors or going outside, restaurants, events, quarantines, travel, lodging, etc. These expectations vary from place to place, and they're not written down in one place where a nerd like me can just look them up. You have to go state by state, company by company, sometimes property by property, and hope the information is current. If you're wrong, you invite public humiliation at the hands of Karens, followed by ostracism. If you're lucky.

Fauci is a special kind of nerd because he can take his mask off at any time. If you call him out on it, he'll lie about why he took it off and call you "mischievous" because he's Anthony Fauci and he does what he wants. Regular nerds have to face refusal of service, criminal charges, fines, etc.

Oh no, you've got him all wrong! Since he's now seen the light after all of those people died, that must mean he's more enlightened and experienced in his decision making and should be completely trusted! Because we all know the only way to figure out solutions and make important shot-calls is trial and error, it totally isn't just common sense that's required! Except this time the trial is a deadly virus and the people dying is the error. Fucking lovely.
