U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

Twitter gaysian Andy Ngo reporting that a Jett Avery Thomas was arrested after attempting to set fire to a gas hookup outside a Portland hotel. Connected to the riots? Seems likely. Thomas is a career criminal who apparently is out and about still committing crimes despite this being his third arrest in three months. Seems possible that the others may have been one of those nonsense catch and release arrests Portland Police are doing to pretend that they're addressing the riots.

EDIT: Actually, looking at https://webportal.courts.oregon.gov/portal/Home/WorkspaceMode?p=0 the May arrest was pre-riots, though his latest arrest is actually #3 with others on 06/21 and 07/26.

At first I was under the impression she was an active EMT when she died instead of being one for a few months in 2016 before getting fired apparently, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ever came out it was because she was stealing drugs. Not that it justifies her death or anything, of course. There's still enough police fuckery that went on that night that it's hard to tell where that begins and where the BLM fuckery after the fact ends. I'm glad that it's provided the impetus for eliminating or at least heavily restricting no-knock raids (though we saw how grateful BLM was to Rand Paul for spearheading that) but as you said everything BLM touches turns to shit.

Yea I have a problem with the whole BLM thing in which because you want to defend the Police, that means they have no problems. It's the kind of all or nothing position you consider someone suffering from BPD would take. "Oh you defend the Police! That means you think Police are perfect!". No they need more funding, more training. They take up the most dangerous job within civilized society. You should want to attract the very best people, with the highest level of training, maybe moreso than the military. Since you are dealing with America's own citizens. They should probably be the highest paid in the nation considering they are dealing with life threatening situations every day. They may actually die, within the national boundaries, not in some Afghan hellhole, but instead, next to a 7-11.

Defunding the police makes literally no sense. You going to send a social worker to talk to a crack addict with a gun? With almost no funding? Yeah, you just want dead people by my estimation, or you want anarchy.

So basically she'd switch to the Republican party? No ways shes getting allowed any campaign funding once she takes up those talking points.

I mean, with the way the Dems shifted just in the past year, she's practically a RINO already.

But the only thing that could damage her would be coming out against BLM. Biden/Harris are doing tepid "hey guiz don't riot plz" remarks. I don't think there's a real pro-riot constituency within the party, they're just being cowardly about it for optics right now. And there is a chunk of anti-war Democrats that are liking Trump right now because he's the only person visibly trying for peace everywhere, the only President in recent memory to not start a war. Building up your trust with them gives you a base for 2024.

If Trump wins and 2024 becomes a "return to normalcy" election, it would be good for her to establish her law & order, sane governance, return to peace kind of brand. Coming out hard against the riots, especially against the local Democrats who are messing everything up, is an easy win that only the hardcore crazies can call a negative.

Edit: well that's a hell of a coincidence.

Does anyone else wonder how people in your life can survive without any sort of critical thinking skills?
>most of california
>looks at inciweb...
>less than 14,000 acres

(most of the red is a different fire that started in August)

This is the trifecta of fires threatening Salem and Portland. The is so little containment "contained line" isn't even in the map legend. The brighter red is what burned today.

Seriously considering making a Firewatch 2020 thread at this point.

I kind of wonder if the insurance companies will be pressuring the inspectors to find 'antifa connections' because there's a LOT of burnt down buildings and homes and if it turns out to be Antifa it's the feds problem not the insurance companies.

I mean, last year I'd think that was a dumbass conspiracy theory thought, but now? With Antifa having burned down a dozen cities and the insurance companies laughing their asses off over the "Civil Unrest" clauses?

Perfect time, perfect scapegoat.
I have contacts in a field adjacent to insurance (adjusters). I will ask them this asap.

I don't know if that is an "easy win" these days the people the DNC is allowing to be their voice are seemingly are mostly propedophilla

IT may win over rational and sane people, but is going to cause blacklash from the DNCs de facto voice (antifa/commies/Idpol/SocJus)

Not to mention not understanding exactly how much power is used in modern society, that over half of the electrical infrastructure is old as shit and not designed for the massive load they have now, and not understanding how little wind and solar actually put out compared to modern nuke plants.

But no...

"NUHKAH BAAAHD!"
man. i lived in california most of my life, i know all about shitty power grids. fuck pg&e for not doing their fucking jobs and leaving the state a complete mess. though apparently the current round of blackouts is because the state mandated they switch to "green energy" when a lot of power was already generated by natural gas plants...and wind and solar are shit for consistent power delivery and should be used as supplementary power instead.

correction on looking it up: biomass, biogas, geothermal, a shitton of hydroelectric, a massive shitton of natural gas, a whopping two (2) (dos) coal plants, two nuclear plants that generate 88% of the power of thirty-fucking-two photovoltaic solar plants (and i can guarantee you that's with a MUCH smaller footprint -- save the environment but also pave it over for more solar panels i guess) that produce >100 MW, two petroleum plants, and four thermal solar plants, for what looks like (too lazy to math it all out) around 50,000 MW of power generation

and it's still not e-fucking-nough for the state, and they want to SHUT DOWN the diablo canyon nuclear power plant by 2025. a plant that's outputting as much power as the FOUR largest photovoltaic power stations in the fucking state. that don't run at night. or on sufficiently cloudy days.

i don't even live in the state anymore and it still makes me mad how badly mismanaged it is by a handful of retards that think they know better. fuck me.

People just tend to be retarded about anything radiation related. Nuclear physics just seems to them like some esoteric subject that they will never grasp and so don't take any time to educate themselves on the matter. They see radiation as some sort of mutagenic miasma that converts regular fish into three eyed fish. They don't even have a real grasp of the fact that "radiation" is an obscenely broad term.
I had a quick chat with one woman who was concerned about the cell tower's "radiation" near her house, obviously equivocating electromagnetic radiation and ionizing radiation. That was dumb in its own right, but the bitch went on to express concerns that said radiation would "stick to" her tomato plants.
we'd better not let people know they're constantly radiating heat and light. or that light bulbs' method of action is also radiation.

I can't believe they put Podesta, Clinton, Brazile, Steele and Kristol as a "Political Elections Monitoring Group." I'd read it as parody if I wasn't already conditioned to accept this level of clownery. Is that a word? It is now.
They can call themselves whatever they want but they can't do anything except REEEEEEEEE

I think they are so arrogant at this point and so convinced things are in their favor. They are in the same mindset they were in 2016. There's no need to stoop to Trumps level. They can manipulate Google and Twitter and Facebook to say the right things. Unfortunately, those people you banned still exist in real life.
Well, every Democrat thought they were on their way to progressive utopia after 8 years of Obama.

Here's the thing: BLM and Antifa want to be the ones to be the law and order. They want THEIR brand of justice and social order to be the norm in their self governed places, or at least with people in office or are sympathizers to their cause, if not outright supporters. It's only a matter of time before we see someone run for some form of office (probably some smaller office like a mayor) on a pro-BLM platform.

the democrats are exceedingly poor losers and also want all of the power, is the only real answer i can provide. not that we should just give the republicans carte blanche because they're opposed to the dems, but, jesus christ.

Yes, they have literally contested every election they have lost in modern history unless it is a landslide.

FYI for anyone who may need to drive through the Denver area as a visitor, open carry is legal there other than in Denver County. More importantly, you can carry a concealed firearm in your vehicle without a permit and they are a castle doctrine state where you can use deadly force to protect yourself, your property, and/or a third party in danger.
