My first thought on hearing where the latest nonsense was happening was "There are black people in Lancaster?"

It is big enough they might find some stuff to steal and burn down. They might find some armed, take-no-shit Americans there too. Time will tell.

The chimping is already in progress as we speak.

I knew Lancaster was pretty white, which seems to indicate most of the joggers came from somewhere else as soon as word got out, anticipating some looting opportunities.
They'd best stay in the city limits though. The Amish do not fuck around. They're peaceful, non-confrontational people but they aren't easy to push around.

And if you piss off the Amish, they can make you disappear pretty easily given that they live out in BFE. Good folks, very resourceful, salt of the Earth type people but I wouldn't want to piss an Amishman off.
Hell, I used to run deliveries to Amish communities. There was this little old Amish lady I delivered to, she was about four foot nothing, probably pushing 80. She kept a twelve gauge right next to her screen door.
Also not to be discounted, most of the men are strong as a fucking ox too. I've lived around them all my life and nobody is stupid enough, not even tweakers, to try burglarizing Amish homes.
It's like an unspoken rule even among the local criminals: Don't fuck with the Amish.

It's kind of like the Mormons, really. Peaceful, non-confrontational, usually very friendly and amicable people but you do not want to piss them off.

Additionally, driving a tractor/combine/etc isn't a job that someone can just walk onto, even with certifiable hours operating them.

Greenhorns gotta chuck bales, mend fences, and muck barns for a while before most operations will let them anywhere near power equipment. Tractors are fucking expensive, and liabilities for dumbasses getting wrapped up in a PTO shaft are ridiculous.
