It was just the excuse. Just like how some idiot archduke shot by an autistic Serb triggered the first world war, the incident was simply the spark that set off a chain reaction that took decades to construct. In this case, the build up of a massive institutional beaurocracry and a yellow journalism media establishment that viewed itself as utterly indispensable to that system. To the point that they became integral to it, and advanced all the policies and agendas that drove a greater and greater wedge between the rural and working class portions of America and the coastal globally connected hubs. Wars have started for less.

The real tragedy is that its very clear now, that the institutional state and media establishment have realized what they have done. But like Wile E. Coyote, no matter how hard they blow they simply cannot extinguish the fuse they lit.

Is it just me or does this 'MALT SHOP' mutual-aid facade look like the anchor for Portland's newest attempt at a Chaz? I'm assuming it's a temporary set-up for fire relief but if history tells us anything, these nasty shitheads take root very quickly and are difficult to remove without lots of force. The very real need for this kind of aid exists in a disaster like the fires and is a perfect opportunity for them to try and ride those charitable coat-tails for good optics while at the same time staking claim to another new, soon-to-fail commie mini-utopia. The possibility of that happening is what will shut this down. And it's not just the US but everyone else that has a vested interest in making sure the US isn't taken over by crazy black supremacists and their lunatic Marxist handlers. No one wants that weaponry under their control. No one wants the possibility of Antifags being able to back up their batshit ideology with weapons of mass destruction, because they are stupid enough to use them.

There is no way to predict how this will go down sadly. There are too many variables and a lot of them depend on how the coming election goes down. All these tactics however may be severely compromised if officers do not have a firearm for self defense so they can stop the aggression. Such, suspects may continue to in their deadly aggression towards officers absent the presentation of deadly force. This could lead to an increase in police officer homicides to near 1970 or 1980 levels.

We're already seeing a return to the violent crime and murder rates of that time.

Every time I see some respond to that with a decrease in petty crime, it's a laugh. 1. well certainly between the two one is certainly worse. And 2. So many shops aren't open and the cops aren't responding to pettier complants, of course they are lower.

I wouldn't say that exactly. Saving and making investments is what gives lenders the capital to fund that growth and expansion. Stashing your money in an IRA is just as good (if not better) for the economy or "system" as it were than buying a bunch of frivolous shit.

Living within your means is a sensible way of going about things on a personal level. Frankly, I don't think the wider economy gives a damn. It benefits from people taking either strategy.

Though I am one of those no loans, no credit cards, save and pay with cash weirdos so my views might be a bit skewed by it.

It appears this situation may be a combination of cops overreacting (given what has happened in Chicago over the last few months, I don't know if I blame them) and starting to issue tickets and stop traffic earlier on, and people overreacting to the cops because they weren't happy about the MID parade being cancelled due to Corona (I can sympathize with the anger given the last few months), hence the crazy driving on the sidewalk shit (which is fucking stupid, dangerous, and was a dumb reaction to have).

The part I started watching from there are none on the sidewalk now, just a car parade. A Mexican/Hispanic car parade of some sort? No idea if it will lead to anything in particular but apparently comments are saying police are handing out tickets somewhere.

A lot of comments on the stream are in Spanish and I don't really speak that so no idea what they might be saying. Anyone know if there's a holiday going on? Or they're just having some fun riding around.
