Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I think a really great Episode 2: The Clone Wars would have ended with Anakin becoming a Jedi knight having had won a costly battle partly due to giving into the Darkside ; maybe with implications of "We are running really low on full knights".

Mace might suspect Anakin isn't ready. Even Anakin might think he's not ready, but there is no room for those doubts with the war on.

I think it that would be an interesting inverting of ep. 5 where the end is dark but hopeful; in this one the ending is upbeat but with a looming darkness.

Heck, that battle with Asajj Ventress on Yavin IV would be a great battle to have before Anakin becomes a knight. He gets knighted for defeating a Sith warrior on the field, proving his might as a Jedi, but what the other Jedi don't know is that he had to use the Dark Side to win that fight.

It even has a good callback to Episode 6 where Luke defeated Vader by using Dark Side brute force against him-Anakin does the same to win the fight against Asajj, showing how he's getting closer to the Dark Side.

It's like poetry, it rhymes.

I like TPM to this day. I highlighted this part because it has a lot of merit as a film separate from SW and that, imo, is its downfall in terms of some popular internet reception. Gonna post something I posted in Mauler's thread but this video(its long AF) really changed how I viewed the prequels and George Lucas and made me think about creativity and the effort that goes into it. If you have the time I'd highly encourage people to watch it.

I've skimmed ahead and have not only noticed the video maker taking shots at routinely incorrect cretins like Chris Stuckmann, Patrick Wilhems, and RedLetterMedia, but is also making use of something remarkably absent in a lot of Prequel Analysis/Critique videos: George Lucas's on-disc commentaries.

So that alone piques my interest, and ensures that I'll be watching this at some point.

I'll have to keep an eye on that guy. Looks like a good source of Prequel commentaries.

According to Grace Rudolph, Pedro Pascal reportedly walked off halfway through season two.

Yeah supposedly had a fight with a Disney exec. From what I understand, he wasn't even in the suit for 99% of S1 so it's not like he isn't replaceable.

Disney nu-Canon loosely implies that the Firespray and Jango's acquiring of the Slave I from the Oovoo IV prison is still part of the nu-lore, however as Porgcuck has said numerous times, Disney canon is worthless and as we've seen the Story Group has no real meaning or purpose so I wouldn't be surprised if they make up some new origin for the Slave I. EAfront II in particular retcons it so now Orange Yoda is the new owner of Boba's ship and it seems to be implied in some comic that Boba and Jango's ships are different, with Jango's ending up on some junk planet to be used by Rey. As far as Disney continuity is concerned, only the godawful Disney Trilogy is infallible as even the OT has received a few retcons. Which is why I have little interest in the Mandalorian if they still plan to remain within a continuity that where the DT reigns supreme, which seems to be the case as 8 years after ROTJ in this setting, the jedi are still just a rumor rather than a New Republic endorsed faction and Luke barely even exists, so I'm inclined to believe that they're still going with the sequel narrative and the bullshit introduced via Kylo Ren.

And in regards to the trailer, I will at least give them some praise for finally getting rid of all the disgusting scrotum-based Disney aliens and using OT, PT and EU aliens in there for the trailer which caught me by surprise, including a fucking Abyssin as an arena-loving gang leader which is all too fitting, Gamorreans being used for gladiator sport, a pair of Rybets, and a water planet that serves as a Quarren colony of which they had many of. Only flaw would be in the last once since it shows both Mon Calamari and Quarren co-existing despite being in an eternal feud, unless of course this is a reference to the X-Wing Rogue Squadron comics wherever a Mon Cala and Quarren romance in that story inspired others of their kind to try and co-exist, but I'm skeptical since Filoni isn't one for that kind of blatant lore recognition unless he can spin it as an original idea.

But regardless of bringing back familiar aliens, it amazes me that it took them 6 years to remember what the galaxy's inhabitants are supposed to fucking look like.

Then just make new allies and villains instead of recycling Filoni OCs for the millionth time. Or use allies and villains that haven't gotten any screentime since the Disney buyout but fit with the era if you want old characters to milk.

She has a more consistent track record than Doomcock so I have less doubts, although I'll still take it with a grain of salt. But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this is the case with Pascal. Hiding your face in Hollywood these days is pretty much considered taboo, and a lot of actors and diversity types get salty about that sort of thing. Never mind that Prowse and Jones embraced their combined helmeted role. Also Pascal crying to Kennedy feels like an example of Filoni getting a taste of his own medicine, since he pulled the same thing on Leland Chee back during Filoni Wars' production. Anyway yeah, people are already saying they spotted Aladdin's Rebels characters in the new trailer...

Didn't Clone Wars retcon the mon cal quarren relationship?

And it was over such trivial shit, too. In both the old and new canons, we saw Mandalorians without their helmets for extended periods of time. Pre Vizsla, Bo-Katan, Fenn Shysa, Montross, even Boba and Jango Fett. Canderous in KOTOR 2 was the only one who didn't take off the helmet and suit, but one can easily explain away that it was him protecting his real identity from Meetra Surik's companions whom he didn't trust, and he was Mandalore at the time, so he had a reason to keep his identity hidden. That, and he had no helmet in KOTOR 1 and he didn't give a damn who saw his face back then.

They could just as easily have it so that Din Djarin didn't take his helmet off outside, but inside buildings and ships, we'd see him take it off while talking to Baby Yoda now and then.

Annoying thing nobody ever looks at history as everyone could of had their cake and eaten it with no problems if they had. Member of somewhat secretive order looking for information without wearing a "look at me sign," answer is take off all visible clothing, armor, and other identifying items to go about as joe blow rando.

Exactly. Best way to be anonymous is to not call attention to yourself by wearing shiny armor. For guys who go around in a costume all day, the best way to not be tracked is to simply take that costume off. Pedro Pascal walking around in common clothes around town wouldn't call as much attention as some dude who looks like a member of a killer warrior cult armored in shiny beskar armor that tells everyone "this guy is a Mando."

So Pedro tarded out in his first major role because he believed he was irreplaceable and was raging over not having his face out there. How absolutely suicidal, especially since a good trick would legit just be to get a voice impersonator and a look-a-like to do the two bits as needed.

So I suspect that we're getting the redhead Mando and Asoka to "finish" this shitshow since what I suggested is too smart for Disney right now.

I legit am amazed on how Disney keeps finding ways to utterly fuck up everything Star Wars they touch. They have the anti-midas touch; everything they touch turns into lumps of shit.

Is nobody aware of Narcos? Or Kingsmen? Or looked up his filmography? Yeah, we all love or like Star Wars but being the voice for a tin man is not a major role. This is way more on Disney than Pedro imo. Considering hes in the Princess Bride series coming out I bet he choose the job that would actually help his career more and that's going to be the one that shows his face.

Mandalorians never had a restriction on showing their faces before. I'd love to blame Filoni but considering Clone Wars this is probably Favrou's making. Its dumb, and tbh Pedro dropping out is the better decision for his career. Being replaceable like that is never a good spot to be in.

I'm *aware* of Narcos but only that. I only saw the first Kingsmen movie and I honestly cannot recall if he was in it or not.

As for the Princess Bride series, do I even want to know how fucked up and bad a 33 years later adaption is? I think you're overstating Pedro's star power by a lot.

He was in the second one, and my point is not overstating it. He doesn't have much, but being the voice for The Mandalorian isn't gonna help him with that. It's why he wanted his face visible. And it should be.

I never watched those so this is more me never hearing of him until this tiff. I don't use Netflix since I feel like it's a scam what with the glut of streaming services out there already and them basically being a shittier form of cable now, and I never watched either Kingsmen movie. It doesn't help I tend to ignore actors for the most part anyway TBH, since I tend to remember roles, not the people in them.

Him losing his shit over a directorial edict is the first time I even knew this guy's name. Also I have even less of an opinion on him for joining the abortion that is remaking the Princess Bride tbh.

I think he's the fourth former Game of Thrones actor Disney Star Wars hired. The first was Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, second was Max Von Sydow as some friend of Princess Leia, the third was Emilia Clarke, where she played Qi'ra in the SOLO movie.
