They wouldnt need an emp. Just cause more riots and shoot up the grid during the chaos.

No, since mobile towers tend to have battery backups. People would still be able to communicate with the outside world. If you wanted a complete communications blackout, EMP would be the way to go. But even if the EMP thing is a real threat. I would think that's the nuclear option.

These people are starting to make me wish Trump was the Hitler 2.0 they have in their minds. They'd already be dead if it were the case.

"OMG Sheriffs killed a criminal and Trump was okay with it!!! THESE ARE THE POLITICAL DEATH SQUADS I WAS TALKING ABOUT".

Nah fam.

"OMG Sherriffs returned fire on a domestic terrorist member of a marxist insurrection that opened fire on them and Trump was okay with it! THESE ARE THE POLITICAL DEATH SQUADS I WAS TALKING ABOUT! My critical race theory teacher never told me the feds could shoot back!"

Im assuming the more likely tool to be used. An emp would be ideal but its not discreet and might not have one

Bingo.

They did a survey, and something like 75% of Republicans said they would vote in person vs mail, and almost the opposite was true for Dems.

Imagine if on Election Day, there was mass chimp outs, riots, and shootings at polling places in small towns and right keaning districts? Even if you called in the police and Feds, it would be enough to scare conservative voters away, especially old ones. It would be too late for them to mail in ballots. And that would be enough to allow the mostly mailed in Biden votes to tip the election.

I would hope to god that the right would have the balls to declare the election invalid if the left's pet Marxist Insurrectionists did that, but somehow I don't think they would.

What sort of delivery methods are there for an EMP and what kind of range are we talking about?

I don't understand how anyone gets ultra doompill nihilism out of nietzsche unless they have only heard GOD IS DEAD and nothing else.

Because that is in fact all they heard or care to hear because they just want to quote neitzsche to tip their fedoras as hard as possible.

Poor Rudolph. He got a shit hand dealt to him.

And even in the case of an EMP we'll be able to exercise our nuclear option on China. Instant sunshine galore. So not to worry about an EMP. Rest assured we can conduct a nuclear war even if there's an EMP.

Yeah, I doubt the picture of the EMT is entirely accurate. Would it cover most of the US, or a large metro area? And if so where would it be centered

If they actually go through with it and it can be proven to China, I wonder what kind of ramifications would that have.

The easiest would be a high altitude nuclear explosion.

On July 9, 1962, at 09:00:09 Coordinated Universal Time (11:00:09 p.m. on July 8, 1962, Honolulu time), the Starfish Prime test was detonated at an altitude of 250 miles (400 km). The coordinates of the detonation were 16°28′N 169°38′WCoordinates:

16°28′N 169°38′W.[1](p4) The actual weapon yield came very close to the design yield, which various sources have set at different values in the range of 1.4 to 1.45 Mt (5.9 to 6.1 PJ). The nuclear warhead detonated 13 minutes 41 seconds after liftoff of the Thor missile from Johnston Atoll.[5]

Starfish Prime caused an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that was far larger than expected, so much larger that it drove much of the instrumentation off scale, causing great difficulty in getting accurate measurements. The Starfish Prime electromagnetic pulse also made those effects known to the public by causing electrical damage in Hawaii, about 898 miles (1,445 km) away from the detonation point, knocking out about 300 streetlights,[1](p5) setting off numerous burglar alarms, and damaging a telephone company microwave link.[6] The EMP damage to the microwave link shut down telephone calls from Kauai to the other Hawaiian islands.[7]

Whos going to prove it was China?

Doesn't help if the towers are torched beforehand; we saw how readily those 5G towers burned earlier this year.

People are speculating about them doing it in the first place based on the posts here. So it would be highly assumed. Proving it? Probably harder than I imagine since I'm not super knowledgeable about EMP attacks. Hopefully I'll never need to be but hey this is 2020...

Nuclear blast would cause an EMP. Other than that, I remember reading about Soviet engineers using some combination of high voltage, electromagnets, and shaped explosives to produce an EMP blast. Not sure of the scale of it though.

Found the book. It's Russian and technical.

They don't need an EMP. It's well known to anyone who does any research that a few gunshots to a transformer will take out power to entire neighborhoods for hours. A pipe bomb or molotov at the right place could take power out to entire counties or even a whole state for days if not weeks if you really tried. The power infrastructure in the US is fragile as hell.

Of course, if Antifa targets our power infrastructure, their cell towers will go down too, so...
