Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Supposedly, former governor Scott Walker is playing Kamala Harris during debate prep with VP Pence.

Twitter reactions are mostly GIFs of Harris or other black women laughing.

I never quite got why it was apparently particularly necessary for any given president to have a comprehensive "health care plan", instead of just tweaking some things to make the health care system run more smoothly for everybody. A complete overhaul, if needed, can be developed later, after we've done away with obnoxious memes like "universal American health care" in the discourse.

It is an excellent talking point. It allows Democrats and Liberals to claim they are "compassionate" while forcing may conservative (particularly religious) into a decision dilemma about whether "heal the sick" needs to have practical considerations.

I tried to look up Bernie Sanders plan for details. I was looking for "Benchmarks for marking progress", "how will they get people to comply with their doctor's orders" and "what happens if we don't meet the benchmarks." Essentially I wanted details.

Bernie's website just had 3 bullet points. I don't think they even had a PDF loaded with legalese and fake stats to obsficate the issue. Just "That's the plan, Fuckos!"

The riots and Corona virus stuff has just made it even more obvious that it is never about compromise, just winning. And that's the most annoying part of political discourse these days, the fact it is so predictable. You know the formula for a person's response before they give it.

They will pump him full of every drug cocktail known to man to keep him alive.

So many things in the later part of this year has combined to ruin the credibility of the Democrats and their cronies in the media that it's truly amazing if Joe Biden does win.

That's the thing. I have my doubts about Trump winning but... Liberals shouldn't have any credibility left. Biden's campaign has no "oomph" behind it. There is no compelling reason for a Joe Biden presidency beyond "Orange Man Bad."

People keep claiming Biden's going to win, but I don't see it.

It would NEVER happen, but Tulsi being Kamala's stand-in for Pence would be the greatest crossover since Avengers Endgame.

I don't think Tulsi would degrade herself by working with the Biden campaign. I'd anything she should have worked with Pence for maximum butthurt from the Dems. Equally unlikely but it would have been funny.

Also Pence is low key dunking on Kamala if he picked fucking Scott Walker to pretend to be her lmao. (Though Scott probably has a very good impression of a screeching liberal from his time in Madison, I'll give him that.)

That's what I had actually meant, but I see now how it could be read both ways; I left it too ambiguous.

"Kamala Harris's energy" didn't she get verbally curbstomped during the debates?
No, actually-- she's a competent debater.

But when your record is as bad as Harris', it doesn't really matter.

Pence can do nothing but repeat "you locked up black people for Californian slave labor" ad nauseam and everyone from Harris to the fact-checkers will be a stammering mess that can only talk about how Harris """evolved""" in the past month.

more or less this

she's running on her credentials, point out that she engaged in gross abuses of her power and how, over and over and do NOT let up except to point out that she literally fucked her way into a position of power to begin with, then go back to hammering on her record

and when she says "I've changed" just fucking play the Saddam Hussein "I can change" song from the South Park movie in the background

If no one gets a pass for saying nigger while drunk 20 years ago than Harris sure as shit doesn't get a pass on her horrific human rights and civil liberties record.

Whats up with putting a sign language person on every speech now, even ones where closed captioning would make more sense?

I am willing to bet more deaf people can read English then can interpret American Sign Language, especially once you consider that places like the UK and Australia use a different form of sign language.

Back in the 90s I recall that ASL was preferred over Signed Exact English or closed captions, but I recall hearing by the 00s that texting was starting to replace ASL as a preferred communication method for more complicated thoughts.

It's more virtuous than closed captioning.

I’d be more urbane. Say that it would be profoundly irresponsible to trust the person one accident away from the most powerful position in the world on their word that they’ve changed. Remember what exactly it is she did. Kamala Harris shamelessly, meticulously made slaves of people for little more reason then that she could. If he wants to lean into his religiousity, he can hint at how she isn’t Paul. He murdered the people that would one day become his brethren, and worked tirelessly to spread their faith until he was executed by the Romans for it. She still gladly swims in the muck and darkness that carried her to power.

Probably because if you try to use closed captioning on Joe Biden, you just get a fucking word-salad that absolutely nobody can read. The deaf people are probably getting a completely different speech than the rest of us, and putting a wall of text on the side of the screen that's trying to transcribe Joe Biden would completely break the illusion. Also, you get to virtue signal about how inclusive you are.
