Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died at 87. - 🦀

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Who was that Catholic woman that was his #2 pick before? Think she'll be the one to get the nomination? Watching the left attacking a woman being appointed to court just before the 2020 election would send sparks flying.

Amy Coney Barrett.

This is the woman that was apparently floated around as a possible RBG replacement, she currently serves on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and was mentored by Antonin Scalia and apparently tends to follow his legal philosophy very closely. Before she was appointed a judge she was a law professor at Notre Dame.

On a personal level: Very sad, and I wish she'd been had the opportunity to enjoy the end of her life with more peace and dignity than she did.

On a political level: AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
Does that mean I'm allowed to feel or think that way when Trump passes?

And so it begins...

I can’t believe it. I thought they would keep her alive until after the 2020 election.

I think they did everything they could to have her hold out but sometimes you can't fight fate.

At the same time, I would not be surprised if this is our "October Surprise" for 2020 come early and the Democrats will milk this for all its worth so they can get as many votes in for Biden in the key swing states and let voter fraud do the rest

Honestly, I don't know much about her or what she's done, so it's difficult to feel one way or the other, aside from in the most basic empathetic way whenever anyone of note dies. But from what I do understand, she was very tenacious when it came to her politics, which while I most likely vehemently disagree with them, I guess I can at least respect that she fought tooth and nail for such a long time, though I doubt I can go much further.

Now time to enjoy the shitshow for the next couple of hours, even in this thread I can tell there'll be a lot of partisan shitflinging
