Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died at 87. - 🦀

I think a theory floated out there was that it's far safer to refuse to hear 2A cases while the Supreme Court is still split, as upholding the status quo and leaving room for a future hearing under more favorable circumstances is still far better than a definitive open-and-shut decision at the Supreme Court.
True, I get that. But breaking the split and as others have said make Roberts not have a choice in the matter will be a big thing that can come out of Trump's SC picks.

She is a major proponent of big government and was probably the most powerful and seasoned believer in the Constitution as a living document. If you're "progressive" (in the political sense), then she's your hero. If you believe in limited government in any way, she's no friend of yours.
Just go look at where she stood on decisions in the last decade and if you want, read any of her opinions.

She wasn't secretive about her views or anything.

But she could be pretty based at times;

"Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of."

They can fucking try it, but I guarantee you it will be a flop and nothing will change. They acted like smug bitches for a long time thinking their party could shit all over anyone who disagreed... well their smile is suddenly fading and they're now starting to feel the consequences of their actions. Now the right has weapons and they're unarmed.

In every thread everywhere: libs reeeeing because they thought RBG was either:

1: Going to be retiring in a Biden presidency, or
2: Living another 4.5ish years to spite Orange Man.

She picked a bad time to die but I am pretty sure both scenarios above were pipe dreams anyway so who gives a shit that we got to the end of the story early? There wasn't going to be an ending where she stayed on the court or got replaced with some woke newer model.

Also, imagine your life's legacy and work as a feminist icon being completely overshadowed by a dangerhair narrative that your death matters mostly because of Donald Trump. This is what a lifetime of service to the liberal cause gets you: a legacy of being "the one who died too soon and helped Trump". I don't think a single article has been purely celebrating her as a person, it's just "blah blah feminist icon blah BUT WHAT WILL TRUBINALD DRAMPF DO NOW?!?!?!?". The TDS is totally appalling. People just cannot discuss any facet of reality without linking it to one dumpy dude in a suit.

Anyway, RIP RBG, and thanks for the gift of epic histrionic drama for the next few months. This was maybe the one thing that could have made the election even more toxic and here it is.

can't believe that RBG said those words on her deathbed. Its bull[caca]. Unless they have proof. And even then I still won't believe it.
It does not matter if it was said or not. Ginsberg, with apologies in advance for very "adult" language, can rot in heck. She had the opportunity to retire with a liberal judge being appointed to replace her. Ginsberg was a selfish old crow who showed no concern for the future. She was probably diddling her dusty old lady front hole to the thought of retiring so that first woman president Hillary Clinton could replace her with a transgender pansexual latinx Black woman.

Praise Allah that Ginsberg dug her own grave. This happened because of the choices she made.

Nah, if Cruz ever gets on the SCOTUS, it will be as the replacement for Clarence Thomas or one of the other appointees from the Clinton and early Bush years

They're going to replace RBG with another woman

That's probably another reason to get Rao on the court since it'll be slightly trickier to get racism accusations to stick to a non-White even if she's not black.

Don't forget the sexual assault scandal the Attorney General had too.

Richmond is home to a cucked legislature full of scumfuck NoVAcrats and traditionalist redneck neocon incumbents while the executive of the Old Dominion is currently helmed by Govenor Coon and his two cronies, Lieutenant Governor Nigger Hater and Attorney General Daterape

I think Cruz would be the perfect choice for Kennedy’s seat in Trump’s second term. He’s not far behind Ruthie.
