Very high. This is why McConnell is ramming through a likely female nomination. He knows Trump might lose the election and adding another conservative Supreme Court judge will help reduce the far left push that a Harris administration will bring. If Republicans have the Supreme Court, they have time to run another populist candidate against her in 2024 or 2028.

I agree. As I said in the other thread, it's really suspicious that she "died tonight". I wonder what would be better; Trump trying to rush through a SCJ before elections and having a Kavanaugh type shit show, or wait until after the election and let Biden continue to step on rakes.

Probably the former. If Trump loses, he needs to get a conservative pick out there. That way, Harris will only have one or two Supreme Court picks during her administration. Breyer will return under her administration as he's in his eighties but Clarence Thomas will fight to keep his seat. He will be eighty-seven by the time Harris leaves in 2028 (again if she becomes President) but it's not impossible for him to stay as we had a few judges stay into their nineties.

That's worst-case scenario where Democrats keep the House and flip the Senate.

Same here. I am going to have a hard time forgiving him after voting to impeach Trump. That said, he votes for the new conservative judge and I will give credit where its due.

It would definitely be better to wait until after the election. But I think they'll push it and try to nail the Democrats on being obstructionist... which might be the right move if the Democrats freak out and reveal themselves to be even more insane than the rioting is.

I'm actually getting uncomfortable with the amount of "Fuck it, I'm moving to Canada" posts I'm seeing on social media right now. Americans, please, rein in your idiots or at least force them to go to Mexico. We already have way too many deranged leftists here, we can't handle yours too.

That's possible, but even then I dont think theres enough time to complete the nomination process. 45 days isnt nearly enough to nominate and push through a replacement, and if they try you know there will be blood. The Democrats will do everything in their power to prevent this from happening, because if they dont they'll have to rely on Robert's and Kavanaugh to moderate the court. That's a nightmare scenario for them

They're not coming. Dems have been saying they're moving to Canada since Gore lost in 2000. No one is doing it. Mainly because they know they have it so good here. Also Canada isn't taking anyone unless your Chinese, Indian, and/or in STEM.
