The West is in a really odd situation where the left controls the media but it can't turn that into popular support and winning votes. So you end up with politicians like Boris and Trump appealing to the people as their champions against the left's cultural hegemony but then doing very little about that hegemony apart from occasionally saying things that are carefully chosen to enrage the left but be accepted by most people. That's enough to make them win elections.

They're freaking out because they've been conditioned to freak out. For whatever reason, the Democrats elevated Ruth to the point of godhood, to a point that is clearly fucking unhealthy and only escaping the denotation of a cult by means of not actually giving it a name. If push ever comes to shove, though, and you isolate someone who praises Ginsberg's life as though she were the second coming of Christ, ask them to explain why.

Without looking at their phones, without consulting a Wikipedia entry, without forcing you to watch some dumb YouTube video from ya' boy Skinnypenis, ask them to explain specifically what she's done to earn this cult-like worship. What were her last three dissents and opinions? What were her landmark decisions? Why is it important that she be on the Supreme Court?

Every bleeding heart that I've ever met worshipped the ground that she walked on, but I've spent the past four years asking all of them why that was, and I never got an answer unless it was "Roe V Wade", but even then they couldn't tell me her opinion, only that she helped pass it. The sad reality of it is that Ruth Bader Ginsberg never meant anything to these people. Ruth wasn't important in the slightest, and her life never mattered to them, only her ability to stay alive.

Ginsberg was a Democrat on the Supreme Court and that's literally the only reason that they cared about her.

I think the UK Gov got a great Damascus moment for the public thanks to the daily press briefings on COVID and the woeful, pathetic performance of the deluded press corps in them. The public could watch the briefing themselves in real time, then boggle in amazement at the media then spinning a narrative, or outright making shit up to the point UK public trust in media remains at hilariously historic lows. People wound up watching only for the publically submitted questions, ones where people asked actual fucking questions instead of the same question endlessly repeated by the plethora of zombies with press badges that used to make up Fleet Street's mob.
