The fact that the Portland riots have died down during the Kenosha riots and during this supposedly White House Siege, nailed it for me that these assholes are traveling across the country to start shit everywhere with Portland being their base of operations. They've also shown to be huge pussies when threatened with arrest and prosecution outside of Multnomah County where that massive faggot Mike Schmidt is refusing to prosecute any of them. I would be happy if the cops didn't arrest anyone anymore but just gave them the beating of their life every night they riot. If they escalate further starting using real bullets.

Ok this totally happened.

This morning I went to the local grocery store to get cigarettes. I dont even smoke. I went to get them just to get them.
When walking back home I decided to go to the library. One of the librarian's seemed really upset. She was bitching about Ginsberg's death.

Thats when I said "oh fuck. Not again."

The lady said "You mean cause the republicans might get a new judge?"

"No" I said. "I forgot the orange juice."

They aren't too powerful because there aren't checks on them. They're too powerful because those checks aren't being used (and because congress has largely abdicated its responsibilities in favor of partisian bickering). They weren't handwaved by the founders, quite the opposite.
  1. The executive and legislative branch can flat out ignore them. A couple Presidents have (and even more have threatened to, causing the SC to back down). The S.C. was intentionally not given enforcement powers. Their decisions mean fuck all if they can't be enforced.
  2. Congress can get its shit together and change whatever law is ruled against by the S.C.
  3. Congress can get its shit together and limit the scope of what the S.C. can review. There's very little that's constitutionally mandated for them to review.
  4. If they get too out of control, Congress can impeach.
  5. We and the states can call a constitutional convention to overrule the S.C. via amendment.
In actuality they have probably the most checks and balances out of the 3 branches. Congress has the fewest followed by the Executive.
