Definitely, you would almost always prefer only cops to armed social workers or nurses, or social workers/nurses with police escort. Most medical and mental health staff are absolute shit at de-escalation, and face fewer consequences than cops if the situation goes south.

I saw at least one social worker joining the stupid false equivalency 'jokes' after the Oakland police officer was killed so I expect a lot of them to be antifa idiots.

So I put on my thinking cap (complete with its please be patient embroidery), and there's probably more cultural threads being pulled that we've seen before. You might not notice 'em, but your brain did

In this election, Boomers will no longer be a truly hegemonic voting bloc. Millennials will combine with the oldest-end of zooomers as well as X-ers to not necessarily represent a majority, but to challenge the overwhelming numbers of the incumbent boomers. (IE, more non-boomers than boomers.) If you consider that boomers begin getting born in 1945, that means that by 1966 (26th amendment is 1971), the first of the Boomers start voting. Boomers were so numerous that they dwarfed the size of the generation before 'em, though, and so you had that dramatic upset and shift in power come about to the political sphere much sooner -- not that the voting-age population did all vote like that, but that they could.

Until this modern moment, though, no-one has really come to challenge the boomers due to numbers/reproduction rates alone. Hence that would be why we haven't seen explosions in political dissonance between establishment-outsider to the wild degree we're seeing now, despite the fact that academia has been serving this nonsense up to several generations in a row. It might also explain why Zoomers and X-ers are somewhat less sanguine than Millennials on the "this is our moment" shit -- they aren't the ones poised to become the new establishment.

Boomers in the late 60s were also entering a political scene in which they were beaten to the punch on progress - they marched some with the civil rights act, sure, but it was mostly people who were just a bit older than them who got behind that. So it was that they had to find something else to make "their thing." The Vietnam war combines with the slowdown in economic performance from the 60s to provide an anti-capitalist, anti-war bandwagon for them to all jump on, and they keep the anti-racism rolling (since, well, it was still a massive deal at that point anyways). Starting to sound familiar?

Millennials have had much, much longer to vote than had 60s-era Boomers on something of importance (let's use the definition of 1981-1996 for millennials). Yet what has really happened since? Obergefell wasn't really done by protests - that was smart judicial activism and the country on the whole moderating and changing alongside the internet. There's Americas endless wars, police brutality/sentencing reform, and the economic crisis - but Obama really didn't do anything to fix either of them. And so now they've found an anti-capitalist, anti-racism, anti-imperialism bandwagon to jump on as they're coming to upset the entrenched political establishment, and they're giving it their all - "their moment!" - because otherwise they haven't done very much just yet.

And so those Boomers clamoring about "our moment!" in the late 60s helped to lead to some pretty poor outcomes for their side in '68 and '72, and the love dies in the 70s - leaving behind a few radical basket-cases who kick and scream and bomb even as their once-companions mellow out and gradually morph into the Boomers we're all more acquainted with. History is like poetry, sort of. Th-they rhyme. So I hope in this case, that fatso was right.

Here is some dumb bitch talking about crime being a construct meant to jail the poor dindus and saying Elijah McClain was strangled. He was the Ketamine OD autist kid. They do not even know the facts of the cases they use.

I love NYC riot videos because the NYPD never gives a fuck. Unlike most police departments, they never seem like they're trying to placate anyone or avoid causing unnecessary pain. They just charge in, batons swinging, as trust fund baby screeches fill the background :story:

Lawd, at least get proper practice swords instead of waving those floppy pool noodles around like limp dicks.
Well she looks exactly like I would expect.
