Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Didn't see this archived. Jinnie calling out bubbafest for being happy about ginsberg passing and some people tweeting they'll never go to it.

A big fat virtue signal and of course has to rope Vic into it.

I think it's lame to post something so political from the convention's personal page. We need more apolitical things these days and dragging politics into a convention is pretty low (the same goes to every BLM-supporting convention of course). With a name like "Bubbafest" everyone can probably guess the politics of the ownership, and odds are a social justice lunatic would probably screech about the owners posting something like that on a personal account anyway so everyone could know.

@AnOminous any rebuttal

This has sweet fuck-all to do with anything that is actually going on in this case, which is in reality, not Ron Toye's wet dreams.

There's nothing to rebutt because she hasn't said anything that's at all pertinent to Ron having waived confidentiality and thus having confidential mediation discussions open for discovery.

If confidentiality is waived, it's waived. You don't get to use it as a sword and a shield, choosing to disclose the contents of it yourself while saying the other side can't.

Just because it isn't possible to prohibit material like this from ever coming out under every set of circumstances, or it isn't directly punishable, doesn't mean you still don't waive it if you voluntarily blast it out to the public. Nobody's talking about suing Ron over this directly, just that he's voluntarily given up the right for it to be confidential by posting it in public, for literally no reason whatsoever.

Man, does this ever make me depressed, especially in regards to Cristina. She was one of my favorite VAs, and I still think her performances as characters such as Noel Vermillion, Homura Akemi, and Velvet Crowe are some of the best out there. Heck, I remember when she was a simply fandubber on Youtube and did covers of anime ops and the like, along with being a Christian.

What happened to you girl? Is it now required to side with overly liberal leanings in order to keep your job?

As someone who usually archives BT tweets, I think he deleted this one because I can't find it.

Found it

I'm no fan of loli-themed shows myself, but why would a company spend cash on something that they never liked? They have some of the biggest anime of all time from Dragonball to Fullmetal Alchemist to My Hero Academia, to speak little of some of the more well-known anime they licensed from defunct dub companies like Geneon and ADV. What's the point of this?

If they hate a certain genre of anime, then maybe they shouldn't waste money on it. A company that spends money on something for the sole purpose of aggravating their already disgruntled customers deserves to lose.

As far as I understand it, Funimation is pulling a Marvel and flooding the shelves. They have bulk license deals with Japanese publishers. They license everything so other companies can't.

And yeah, Sankakucomplex showed some of the BD uncensored fanservice, and there's a few delicious flat chests in there. I'm guessing that's why they're feeling like they have to censor it.

But the entire point of BD is for them to be uncensored, and they're a niche product for a consumer base that almost exclusively steals the product they consume. To wit: If I wanted that anime in BD quality, I'd just grab it off [REDACTED].

Edit:

For example, if I wanted it, I could have BD rips that include Funimation's dubs, Japanese fansubs, and the Japanese BD raws.

Doesn't have the BD Audio but oh well, as mentioned they'll be doing another release when the US BD is out.

I know I'm dumb to ask this but in the case of DC Douglas, does anyone know what airport he was in when he did that video because a lot of states and countries have laws against recording individuals without their cosnet or knoweledge.

"It's nothing but a lame excuse". "If they seriously thought we wanted Vic dead they're solely mistaken". Yeah, keep telling yourselves that. You two were clearly bothered by the video. And Timothy, do us a favor and commit harakiri because that was one of the dumbest takes I've ever heard regarding the situation.

Tora is a moron, as are all the idiots on this thread. If she thinks Vic believes that losers like Emma Plant, Kara Edwards, Whitney Falba and Michele "the teacher" were involved in a civil conspiracy to destroy him, then why didn't he sue them but he sued two of his colleagues (Rial and Marchi), his colleague's fiancee (Toye) and the company that had all of them on their payroll (Funimation)? Because these were the people who did the most damage; because these were the ones who allegedly committed torturous interference; because their experience of working with Vic for over a decade not only gave their story considerably more weight and credibility, but also the stories of the other accusers too.

Most of all, by tweeting about breaking off their working relationship with Vic and declaring that "they do not condone harassment", Funimation publicly confirmed that Vic was fired for harassment. As a result, half of people (including all of KV, which involve people like Tora) not only believed that, but also celebrated his professional demise.

A fat poser making accusations on Twitter is heresy. A multi-million dollar corporation saying that a guy was fired because "they do not condone harassment" is defamation.

Yep, take personal accountability for his actions and he'll be welcomed back to open arms. It doesn't matter that he's been publicly defamed by his employer, that he's been blacklisted from the industry and now half of the anime community think that Vic is a sexual predator and pedophile, but just apologize and we'll gladly take him back.

Sammy, find the nearest moving MTA bus and walk in front of it.

I should point out that not just KV read "we do not condone harassment or threatening behavior" as "we fired Vic for harassment and threatening behavior." Every single person thought that. KV stood and clapped when their anti-Vic sentiments were vindicated by Funimation. Pro-Vic people were poleaxed by the (seeming) confirmation that Vic had harassed people.

I think it was in Colorado? I know Chuck Huber made a tweet responding to DC Douglas about he knew which bathroom it was.
Also, TUG called the airport about it.

I'm not sure but if it is in Colorado then DC Douglas committed a crime.
Colorado recording law stipulates that it is a one-party consent state. In Colorado, it is a criminal offense to use any device to record communications whether it’s wire, oral or electronic without the consent of at least one person taking part in the communication. Albeit there is a caveat in that recording is allowed to take place if there is no reasonable expectation of privacy such as a public place such as a street or park.

Unless public restrooms don't count as having an "expectation of privacy". Then again restrooms are normally private public or not.

Yeah, D.C. recorded himself at the Denver International airport (deleted TUG video, but @damian gave the TL;DR).

Been looking for this Justin Toney. Only one I could find is one that is a private account. And since Advanced Search is being a douche on searching his tweets from February 2019. @PorkeyDuck would you do me this favor
