Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Has anyone else watched Utopia? Either the original (and superior) Channel 4 version, or the Amazon "Originals" rip-off?

What I find really funny is this: I know a lot of comic book spergs, weeaboos and perpetual kiddies who fap over Marvel who are all "OMG LIKE Utopia could like totes be real OMGWTFBBQGUISE!!!" but if they have anyone within a fifty foot radius of them not wearing a mask or saying Le Coeuf is being over-hyped for nefarious reasons, it's all, "set Jimmies to Maximum Rustle, Mr Sulu".

NE Florida trip report one day after state level restrictions ended. ACE hardware no longer requires masks. While county level can still fuck with you and businesses can decide to require masks still, it gives much needed political cover for sane companies to ease off the bullshit and makes it so police can't fine you for not wearing the muzzle.

Big protests against the curbing of freedoms in the UK, in Trafalgar Square today. There's been a stream of it, Met Police Officers were being extremely aggressive to protesters (which is funny cos they were happy to "take a knee" and sit back and watch the burn, loot murder rioters cause mayhem, these protests have been mostly good natured.

There's also reports of David Icke having a heart attack? It's a little bit unclear at the moment.

It's infuriating to see how differently the Police handle this compared to how they handled the actual riots over a junkie and drug dealer who died from swallowing his stash a few months back.

Edited to say: While only a few media outlets in the UK are covering this - the Daily Mail are, the BBC aren't at all - the DM is underreporting numbers. Trafalgar Square holds 35,000 people, the DM was saying 15,000 people were in attendance, but it was at least 3/4 full earlier.

Further edit: The spastic on this livestream is talking about the "constitution" and "bill of rights". I despise people who talk of English Law in the context of USA Law and mix up the two. Nothing makes me angrier than an English person using the term "Feds" or talking about how they're going to "plead the fifth".

Another edit cos nobody likes a Debbie Doubleposter: I've heard a couple of people on the stream say conflicting things about Icke: He's "dead" or "had a heart attack". I cannot find any confirmation of this at all though.

Mostly though, the Police in this stream are being friendly enough, as are the protesters, which begs the question: Why are these guys being cracked down on, but the BLM protesters allowed to run amok, throw bottles of actual piss and shit at the Met and vandalise and destroy?

There is such a stark contrast between the handling of the two situations. BLM protests:

Anti-lockdown protests:

The Met are showing the inherent hypocrisy and contradiction, and how terrified the media and Government are of people picking apart the narrative of "Le Coeuf is totes srs bsns and gonna KILL YOU ALL SO MUZZLE THE FUCK UP BITCHES!!"

Right now on the stream, a man in his fifties is bleeding on the ground because a Met Police officer battered him, and the guy livestreaming is kicking off. Police Officer is refusing to give his Officer number.

Either: The Met Police are inherently racist against white people because they treat the two group differently - which I personally doubt - or they are being told to crush these protests - which have by and large been far more peaceful and civil than the BLM riots - because the Gov does not want people questioning the narrative of this virus.

Between Florida opening up, the data coming out of South Dakota and Sweden that never shutdown in the first place, and the recent UK protests against covid rules I think we're turning a corner. Still no piles of bodies in the streets... I hope that the public is losing their ability to tolerate covid overreactions permanently 🙏

Thinking ahead, any politician involved with a shutdown or mask mandate should have zero future career in politics. R or D, shouldn't matter. I also hope there are investigations into the CDC, WHO, all of those fucking agencies across the planet and then massive reforms. Don't forget all the judges who failed to strike down curfews, quarantines of healthy people, and unproven hygiene requirements and restrictions on movement for entire populations of healthy people. There must be consequences or this will become a regular occurrence.

As for public opinion, I hope all the morons who went crazy supporting shutdowns and especially the mask crazies are all mocked and shamed for their retarded beliefs. I'm angry, and we are going to be feeling these economic impacts for a long time so I hope a lot of other people stay angry over this shit too. Never forgive, never forget.

I hope my state opens up next, same for you guys 🙂

I think the cops are cracking down hard on the UK covid protests on government orders because they know damn well that lots of millions are really fucked off and the gov dont want this protest to be the start of the snowball that crushes the government.
The number of people who give a fuck about american dindus is very small here. The BLM simps were allowed to have their day(or 2) and everyone knew that everyone would be back in front of the telly by tea time and off to work as usual, the next day.
The uk gov is on very thin ice, with the populace, over just about every single aspect of the virus and how it has been, and is being managed. Tory friendly media are turning on the gov and more and more people are getting right royally fucked off with the gov. They cant risk these protests causing more people to question shit so they need to be nipped in the bud.

I think that's what we're seeing here in Ohio. DeWine still polls well, but not with his own voter base, and he's probably destroyed the political career of our Lt. Governor and certainly wrecked his own going forward. I don't think he intends to run again. That woman getting tasered has made the official governor's twitter account amusing to say the least. The thing is, people were willing to go along, as long as there were clear goal posts and reasonable requests and mandates. DeWine just couldn't help but blow smoke and bullshit everyone and that's really where the anger's coming from.

He has eased up on some of the restrictions, so he getting booed at the Trump rally may have been a come to Jesus moment. Or, more likely, not giving Trump the heads up may have led to a behind the scenes talking to.

It's convenient for them to crack down on this and keep people paranoid and in their homes, because it distracts from the complete and utter ballsup they've made of brexit, but also gives them an excuse for when the economy goes into the shitter once the transition period ends.

If the Tories are in power this time next year, I'll be surprised. Their response to just about every major issue in the last few years has been utterly tone deaf at best, and has cost them every ounce of goodwill they picked up when we left the EU. Either they'll be forced into an election by Starmer, or they'll face a backbench revolt and a party leadership change, which will probably result in the new leader calling an election to establish some sort of legitimacy.

I don't want that. The Tories will almost certainly be out of power if an election is called next year, and given the alternatives are Chairman Starmer's Revolutionary Council For The People, or whoever the fuck is in charge of the liberal democrats that week, that would be a very bad thing.

This bloody virus has become an shield for so many halfwits and wannab eichmanns. It's depressing.

Totally agree. The constituencies that Labour lost in their "red wall" are fucked off big time because London, under Khan, is as they see it, out of control. But it's the NE and NW, and basically that whole swathe through the middle from coastal Yorkshire to Blackpool that is back under restrictions. Yet again, London is allowed special rights the rest of the country is denied.

I was no fan of Corbyn - I fucking despise the hard left and I loathe the fucksticks, spastics, troontards and genderspweshulqueerfags and bedroomcommies that Labour attracted under That Odious Little Shits leadership. I really do, I can't stomach them. But they loathe Starmer, and will never vote for Labour under him, so that's awesome.

Johnson never wanted to be PM because he wanted to be PM. He wanted to be PM because of his monumental, all-consuming mental hard on for Churchill. Johnson can write and he's a smart bloke, he's not without good points. But current year would suck so much less if he had ended up as a quirky, potty Oxbridge Historian, teaching students and writing books. Christ, I'd even have preferred May because at least she was predictable.

Lots of people are fucked off with this, and I can honestly see full-scale civil unrest becoming a serious issue in larger cities and metropolitan areas, especially Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle. Cos you know, places do exist outside of London and all that, though I get the impression that a lot of the tards in the SE seem to forget this.
