Oh yeah. Keep in mind that this guy is considered a hero, a martyr. Celebs kneeled for him. People lost their jobs because they didn't
agree or even had some doubts about him. A street (or square) is named after him; there is a George Floyd remembrance day,
kids made mural paintings for this guy and maybe they will learn about George Floyd in school. About the gentle giant who only wanted to help
other people, who did a few little things but moved to a new city to start a new life and the bad brutal popo prevented that by chocking him to death.

I'm very excited to see how the left plays the Barrett nomination. They have started to go after her calling her a domesticated housewife controlled by her husband (LOL). She has two adopted children from Haiti. They'll go weak and call her a religious nutjob and try to block it on those grounds. They are so pissed (maybe jealous?) that an intelligent, traditional woman is getting this position. Trump is a genius for picking her. I can't wait to see Amy Klobuchar have to tear down another woman. This is what they get for treating Kavanaugh so poorly.

The same thing probably held true in previous generations when programs such as Adam 12 or Dragnet aired. The latter show even featured an episode where Friday & Gannon interview hopefuls for the Police Academy.

With the push to erase current day shows such as Cops because police are seen as problematic, it certainly won't do much to help those police departments that are currently understaffed

Probably not with the current attitude by the vocal minority that ACAB and that no dignified person should be a cop. There's a certain irony that not all that long ago, we saw a duality in activists demanding more LGBTetc cops only to claim those same police had no right to participate in or protect gay pride rallies because they were either sell-outs or traitors by becoming police. :story:

Cities needing to bolster their police force have been known to apply the lowest possible standards in the name of getting the warm bodies they desperately need. It's a rather risky gamble, though, especially if they have a checked background or ultimately get in trouble for corruption or (legitimate) brutality.

Police in areas that haven't been tainted by the ACAB/defunding garbage still do this when appropriate. When parents and nearby residents expressed concern over someone that broke into a nearby church and school some time ago, the police chief took time to meet with and talk to those people to explain what happened, that the perp had been arrested, and what would come next. He also explained how to obtain more information through FOIA and do so without wasting time/money in the process -- a good example of community policing.

Looks like Proudboys et al may be on the move to a different park where antifa was supposed to be headed.

Fed Durst is now in an almost entirely empty park and appears to be moving on as well.

I don't understand. Are weapons and shields illegal to possess? Why would they be taken from peaceful protestors? Have they been used for an illegal act? Is there some lawyer alchemy that combines two perfectly legal acts and turns them into an illegal act?

Not being sarcastic, I really think I'm missing something here.

Take a look at this, I think it's a city of Portland ordinance related to parks specifically.

(Corrected under authority of PCC Section 1.01.035 on June 2, 2017.) No person shall possess in any Park any thing specifically designed for and presently capable of causing, or carried with the intent to threaten or cause, bodily harm to another. Things prohibited under this Section include, but are not limited to: any firearm, pellet gun, spring-loaded weapon, stun gun or taser, any knife having a blade that projects or swings into position by force of a spring or by centrifugal force, any knife with a blade longer than 3-½ inches, any dirk, dagger, ice-pick, sling shot, slungshot, metal knuckles, nunchaku, studded handcoverings, swords, straight razors, tear gas containers, saps, sap gloves, hatchets or axes. The prohibitions of this Section do not apply to handguns lawfully carried by persons exempt from local regulation under ORS 166.173. The prohibitions of this Section do not apply to any thing possessed or used to carry out actions authorized by any contract or permit in any Park.

They can basically say anything can be a weapon if intent exists while carrying it. It's an easy "arrest em all and figure it out later" (assuming a West Side Story style gangfight) or "arrest the weirdo threatening people with a pipe-wrench" law.


Edit: Looks like we're getting eyes on the correct park from the usual suspect streamers and it also looks like the proudboy streamers are getting there now. Unclear if any proudboys are there though.

Edit: Not seeing any proudboys at the secondary park, I wonder if they're getting lunch or if they just decided "meh".
