They do, we just don't hear about it because Japan is obsessed with image. They are undergoing their own social collapse, just in a different way than the West because their culture is different. One thing that seems consistent though is a lot of young men turning to escapism (most anime is peak escapism) because they feel like there isn't a realistic chance to have a family and a good life.

I'm actually against banning loli art and shit because I'm against restrictions on any form of media unless it's production directly impedes or disrupts the rights of another person. Thing is I don't think the media one takes in will change them on a deep level; it may affect their ideals or change an opinion on something but no amount of watching Full Metal Jacket is going to make a person who doesn't like violence suddenly start shooting up his local Chinese restaurant. I think more often than not people with an interest in the content of the media are attracted to it.
The difference in violent games and lolicon is simply in the scope of interest. Violent games can appeal to violent people sure, but they can also appeal to people who like challenging games, or like the historical event they are based on, or like cooperative or competitive settings; it has a broad area of appeal and multiple aspects that can draw in multiple audiences. Lolicon and shotacon on the other hand is a form of pornography with a very specific topic, the sexualization of children; there is no broad appeal, it is a very specific area of interest. As I see it there is only one group of people who would be drawn to such a topic and we have a name for people in that group: Pedophiles.

That isn't true though.
People's minds being warped by 5000 year old demons in anime aren't necessarily paedophiles, you forget that we live in a generation that lives their lives in cartoons.
That does not in any way necessarily translate to liking pictures of actual children.
The majority of furries don't have sex with animals, they have sex with other people dressed up like a cartoon animal.

Things can exist that you hate, but those things existing also protects the things you like, because eventually if you start banning everything, they'll come for the things you support.
