Keep in mind that the courts WILL decide if you had "resonable cause" to fear for your life. Because otherwise you could shoot damn near anyone who sets foot on your property and claim you feared for your life even if you didn't.

Yep, there have been stories of people being injured or killed because of stray bullet from things like warning shots or just idiots shooting into the air thinking it's safe because they forget that the bullet has gotta come back down somewhere.

You risk even getting yourself killed, if you fire a warning shot at an intruder or perceived threat and they really are a threat there is a good likelihood that they'll kill or incapacitate you when you could've killed them if you just shot them like you were supposed too.

This pdf is from 2011 but covers concealed carry in Arkansas, in it it doesn't mention the warning shot being illegal by a law there at the time but it does say that it's a very bad idea and just not to do it.
