Serial killer fangirls

Some people are just very strange and thats okay.
Sure, I have a fascination with serial killers and general macabre things myself, as I'm sure lots of others on this forum do, but something about this shit specifically just smacks of retarded, juvenile attention-whoring; the idolatry and the OMGKAWAIIDESU re-imagining of people whose beliefs -- and behaviors -- were objectively, unambiguously harmful and revolting.

*edit*

3 words: "Afton Elaine Burton" (Charles Manson fianceé)
The hilarious thing about that is that Burton didn't care about Manson at all. She was just hoping that being married to him would give her property rights over his body when he died so she could turn his remains into some stupid shock museum piece. The whole thing was literally just a get rich quick scheme, I think Manson broke off the engagement when he learned of that IIRC.

Two killers that I enjoy are Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo. Their nickname is the Ken and Barbie killers. Paul was known as the Scarborough rapist but no one ever died until he met Karla.
As an pre wedding present, Karla drugged her 15 year old sister and both people raped her while they videotaped everything. Unfortunately she aspirated vomit and died. That death was like pulling out the cork, and they later kidnapped, raped, and murdered two more teen girls.
Karla is on the streets because of a controversial sweetheart deal where she testified against her husband.

Even Karla Homolka had plenty of fanboys who thought she was hot, one of those was Luka Magnotta

So It's only autistic for other people? Wtf

I'll also use this thread to make true crime book recommendations.
Invisible Darkness is a very good book about the Ken and Barbie killers. It is so graphic that various advocates tried to get it removed from shelves. It also contains transcripts of the rape videos. Well worth the read.

I like true crime as much as the next person, but I have no sympathy for serial killers. Even the ones with shitty childhoods, I know plenty of people of both genders who were horrifically abused as children and not a one of them has murdered anyone.

I think theproserpina deserves a mention. Here are some of her tattoos.

as someone who has an interest in serial killers (mostly what psychological factors go into making them do what they do), seeing fangirls lose their shit over them makes me cringe so hard that i could throw myself into the stratosphere.

as far as i know, it's usually out of edgelordiness that they go after serial killers. sometimes they do find them genuinely attractive, and granted, some serial killers WERE to women. that was part of how they managed to lure their victims in. but glorifying them? where the hell is the sense in that?

im the same and the pseudo edgy bullshit those fangirls pull of just really pisses me off, because they mostly just want to raise their edge factor.
its super ridiculous - being interested in serial killers and their motivations is one thing, but romanticing them and portraying them as super-kawaii-moeblobs ^_^
is another thing....

also the serialkillers as ponies/furries artwork was the most autistic thing ive seen today. nice.

I dated a girl like this. She was otherwise pretty much normal. She just really liked to be pen-pals with people like Charles Manson. I think it was an extension of her interest in crime-scene dramas and the whole medical forensics scene. I mean, anyone who wants to work with cadavers might be expected to have some odd choices for leisure activities. I know some people who work as Early Responders and similar emergency medical units often are known to view "watch people die" type videos for various reasons. Death is romanticized all the time, really, even Disney gets in on it.

Speculating, women in general tend to be attracted to the "bad boys", and I think maybe the unhealthier side of this is kinda like that, only the neurons misfired somewhere along the way and instead of "bad boys" they latched onto "guys who might actually kill me". Could also have some undertones of prior abuse, or a misunderstanding over displays of violence being mis-associated with displays of affection, the "he only beats me because he loves me" type.
