I think that is less of a left vs right mindset and more of the over consumption of pop-culture mindset.
A lot of people don't understand that others don't have any regard for what the people that entertain them think about anything.

This is definitely it. I would argue it's more of an accident of history that the Left are consumerist bugmen and not the Right, rather than it being an inherent political schism. If the Right controlled Hollywood and the news media I'm sure Right-Wing materialists would be just as insufferable. It's the materialism that really makes them this way.

These people honestly seem unable to consoom any media that doesn't meet a set of ideological standards. God forbid some cartoon doesn't pass the purity test, right? I like bands like Rage Against the Machine, or IDLES, both of which are very far left in regards to their political stances. Now, I tend to be more right leaning than them, but you know what? I really like their music. You don't have to agree with every aspect of the art to enjoy it. Also that bit about how only a handful of people are telling you to vote republican, like, yeah, no shit. They've seen what happens if you endorse Blonald Blumpf publicly. I'm sure a lot of them keep their true political opinions to themselves for the sake of keeping their careers. Look at how people leapt down Chris Pratt's throat over the particular flavour of church he went to. If they even caught a whiff of Trump support, they'd pitch a fit so hard on Twitter, that actor may not get work for a long time, out of fear of these Twitter-cels and their autistic screeching

Some sleazy fuck at a record company literally blackmailed Taylor Swift into endorsing the Dems because if she didn't, she'd never get the chance to buy back her master tapes. It's a madhouse out there. I don't trust that every celebrity who came out for Biden isn't doing it under duress. Some probably believe it, but others are definitely hiding or going along with the mob to avoid punishment.

I wonder if he even understands the concept of people spending their time doing something other than watching TV? It's not particularly difficult to fill your day with doing things that aren't watching TV, watching/reading the news, reading what celebrities on social media are saying about the news, and so on. Hell, you don't even need watching movies, playing videogames or reading books to consume your time. Just hanging out with friends and family, and taking care of your kids if you have them, and dealing with the day to day errands and necessities can easily consume most of your free time. What's left can be filled with exercise or other hobbies. Yet by his premise he can't seem to even comprehend that some people have better things to do than watch the stuff he watches, or pay attention to the celebrities that star in it.
