If I am not mistaken, a factkin is a person who's "kin" is an actual living or dead person. So just as an insane tumblrite fictionkin/otherkin/whateverkin might identify as.... I don't know, Goku or some weeaboo shit, a factkin might identify as, say Benjamin Franklin, or Kevin Spacey, or some other insane and extremely disturbing shit.

ohhh otherkin.. originally just a couple of odd but harmless individuals who thought they were dragons, is now basically the birthright of every specialgender self diagnosed teenager on tumblr. they invade every single space claiming it as their own and taint all things with their "kin feels".

sadly a few of my friends have bought into the madness of being kin; i am very disheartened and can't take them seriously when they talk about their ~feels~ and how their phantom wings feel. it's just really awkward and uncomfortable, esp since these people are not otherwise spiritual or anything.

i can respect religion, spirituality and the like, but this is just. clearly people trying WAY too hard to be special. i miss weaboos and scene kids.

why is it that teens want identify as a catalogue of weird ass creatures and non-existent genders, and in addition to that invent some stupid ass sexuality like "metro-pan-hetero-romantic" all at the same time to seem edgy?
i've never seen a heterosexual female identify as "otherkin". i guess it just isn't edgy enough for tumblr.

don't know if this has been mentioned but a good troll is orochimarukin, (and i say troll because i'm pretty damn sure its a troll, if not i don't know what to think) and if anyones curious they identify as tamponkin and all sorts of other stuff. people ask questions. they take it pretty seriously.

I was surprised to see that we don't have a general thread on otherkin (at least, that's what the search engine revealed to me) so I decided to take it upon myself to rectify that.

If you've been blessed enough to remain ignorant of this group, otherkin are basically special snowflakes who believe they are animals. They're different from furries, who don't actually identify as the animals they dress up as or whatever. There are tons of types of otherkin (all ending with the suffix -kin), ranging from animals (wolfkin, catkin, etc) to mythical creatures (dragonkin, fairykin, etc) to fictional characters (collectively referred to as "fictionkin") to religious figures (angelkin, demonkin, even fucking godkin).

What do they have in common? They're all either batshit insane or attention-seekers.
