I don't really think the debates do much to sway peoples' opinion. Trump made a mistake in setting the bar so low for Joe - all Joe had to do was not collapse or fall over or forget where he was, and he met expectations. So it was that Joe... met his expectations.

I will say, though, that this one may be different simply because so many things got brought up which I assumed the discussion would never go to. The names of groups and organizations getting dropped will compel people to search 'em up, which might get them a flow of information that is unmoderated by the usual media gatekeepers. Of course, this is on a blank incog account with its location shit frazzled through a VPN, so what happens to someone actually searching on their google account from their real neck of the woods is something I can't gauge.

I tend to look first at images before articles, and these images would make me do the legwork to dig a little deeper - but I suppose I can't speak for the average. Is it just me or did Eugene OR suddenly get an influx of streamers after the weekend not seen with this regularity...ever?

Methinks that thinks a chunk of the protesters headed down to Eugene to avoid the federalized PPB.

I've noticed an uptick in Eugene streams towards the end of last week. I also noticed one of the streamers (Tre something) who had been streaming out of Eugene streaming out of Portland a couple days later. Probably a decent amount of individual travel back and forth since it's a relatively short trip up and down the interstate, but I hadn't considered that the group might actually be re-settling the permaprotests down into Eugene. Not a very cool prospect.

Lane County (where Eugene is) is currently having a mini explosion of new Covid cases, but emotionally and socially blackmailing people into leaving their quarantine-clean homes and throwing themselves into a mass congregation of total strangers who half-ass their mask usage is totally the right thing to do right now.

That said, though, I have no sympathies for our protestor. He can't actively seek out confrontation situations, get arrested, and then screech about being disabled. From the look of stream clips posted here -- he gets more confrontational with each new day of protests. Make bad decisions, suffer bad consequences. If he's truly too brittle to be arrested, then he should obey the law -- plain and simple.

At this point he has no one but himself to blame.

Wow, SnackVanGuy was willing to piss away $50k worth of retirement and even more in other personal assets and is now left with nothing to show.
