This crisis made me lose all respect I had for the medical profession. Nowadays I tell people that if they find me bleeding on the street, don't send for an ambulance, but a priest.
I know what you're saying. Sometimes one can only take these things personally. But tarring all doctors with the same brush is as silly as tarring all policemen with the same brush. But there is a pattern emerging.
Doctors have to deal with people, most people are assholes, so it's fair to say that doctors end up like coppers who have seen it all day in and day out for years. They become jaded and cynical. They are human too and can take dislike to people in an instant. The power differential is massive and you have no recourse and this makes you feel more impotent and therefore more resentful towards them.
I once saw a practice manager about something I wasn't very happy with my doctor about. I didn't make a complaint. My card was marked from that point on. I could get my medical records but they aren't fucking stupid, no one is going to write that shit down. It's word of mouth to cover their arses. I just realised that even though I've not seen a doc for years, that this grudge has been held over to another surgery many years later, and I really have done nothing wrong. I tried to change surgery but I can't. All I can do is request not to see that doc again who I felt was setting a precedent in his treatment of me. He was overly polite and extremely callous. Enough of the PL.
This whole new thing we have in England about not being to speak to a doc any more is extremely worrying. It's not going to go back to 'normal' when and if this corona shit stops. It should send big fucking alarm bells ringing for anyone. This will have been in the works for years, but now is the time they roll it out. People will have probably died from this new system already as it cuts out the human interface between doctor and patient and amplifies the roll of the dreaded fucking receptionist. They are now higher than the Gods, higher than the doctors in fact, as they literally hold the power of life and death over you. Internal bleeding and vomiting blood, fill out the form on the website motherfucker and don't give me your problems!
I think as this is such a new thing and has only come about so recently, we haven't heard that much about it. I don't know how widespread this new forced system is in the UK, but I've a feeling it's across the board. I mean, who can complain at such trying times as these? Thank you for understanding. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for getting shit on and not causing a fuss.
We now have receptionists making executive decisions about who the doctor will or won't see. Don't get me wrong, it's a vital roll and I've had very good experiences with the gals in my local surgery, they have been really great, but it only takes one uppity bitch to get the wrong end of the stick and it could cost you your life.
The electronic system they have for diagnosis is a farce. As a computer programmer and someone that takes great interest in designing systems, I really am in a state of shock and disbelief that they would even attempt such an ambitious project such as this. For one, it can't go anyway to giving a diagnosis, the machine learning and AI is just not there yet, even if it is in other realms where it is statistically more accurate than a real life meat and bones doctor. But this is not the same system. That is on an individual basis and proof of concept and getting more accurate all the time. Doctors won't even have jobs in ten years time, not in the way they have them now anyway. This is a different catch-all system that is so utterly poor in its design and execution that the people responsible for rolling it out should be imprisoned or held accountable for the deaths that will ensue from it.
It's one thing to take a single patient and throw everything science has at diagnosing them. Great results! But it's another thing to even attempt to diagnose symptoms from a local population numbering thousands. For obvious and not so obvious reasons.
Another lie with this electronic system is the hours spent filling it out and going in to detail when you choose 'other' as an option. I ended up writing a thousand words or more. No doctor would have the time to even skim that. This isn't for the doctor, it's for their machine learning. They are using the patients as guinea pigs to advance their tech.
As an aside, there's a youtube video out there about Jeffery Epstein who was involved pitching a system like this for diagnosis by computer. He seemed to know what he was talking about and was extremely convincing in his pitch. He made the point that these AI systems already have a greater accuracy than human doctors. Everyone focuses on the sex case angle with Epstein, but they guy could fucking talk and sell sand to the arabs. Strong powers of persuasion. Backed up by science!
But that is the state of play here I'm afraid with regard to getting medical attention (at least in my area). It's fucking anarcho-tyranny in the doctor's surgery. Sure they can do amazing things today in modern medicine, but they won't be doing them for YOU frendo! I've still not worked out what is going on here with the timing of this shit. I don't know if the Wu Flu was used as an excuse to roll this out, or whether they created the whole Wu Flu thing to be able to roll this out in a plausible manner. That's pretty paranoid thinking. I'm aware of that. So many societal changes being brought to bear with Wu Flu as an excuse.
I'm probably not the best person to listen to and again, sorry for my little rant. I'm still extremely fucking butthurt on a personal level with my new (never going to see the cunt again) doctor. But the other stuff I've mentioned is a very separate issue. And that will be affecting everybody. That little old lady boomer knew what a farce this was. The one that made the mocking remark towards the surgery for the whole andromeda strain shit. And she will have had to go through the same procedures to get an appointment. They just totally pulled the rug out from under everyone with this. I really have been on the fence, and even my boomer folks who were full of the fear from being fed the shit on the TV news, well, they are super pissed off as well now, what with having life-threatening conditions and being made to spend fucking hours filling out fucking forms to see a doctor, when there isn't even anyone in the surgery.
This is an ill wind that blows. It smacks of conditioning. We will soon see when a miracle vaccine is found and everyone will have to have it jabbed in to their arms, or else they will be shamed as
bad people.
And what could be worse than being a
bad person in this day and electronic age? Ask the chinks. It's all fun and games and no one gives a shit until your social credit rating is affected and you can't get a food delivery because you've been a bad boy/girl.
Slowly slowly catch a monkey. Mission creep. Boiling frogs.
I've noticed a serious change in the demeanour of people as well. Everyone seems on edge, suspicious. I just can't put my finger on it but I know things don't go back to normal from here. And there will be new shocks coming along soon to modify our behaviour further. Someone penciled in 2020 to be the year the real shit kicked off. It's a nice round number, I'll give them that.
