Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

If I'm being honest I trust like all of three (currently "active") voice actors. The rest are as slimy as can be and if they get shit for aligning themselves with defamatory statements or bullshit politics they 100% deserve whatever comes to them.

And looking back at their interactions with fans, so many of those seem terribly fake...

Imma add Lani Minella, Carrie Savage, Jessica Straus, Cam Clarke, Tiffany Grant, Rena Strober, Ben Diskin, and Max Mittleman to your list. They're all awesome tbh.
Of course can't forget bae Kirby

That is really the defense's argument to show that Vic pulled Marchi's hair?
They continue to move the goalposts into orbit.

Marchi's story wasn't a hair pull or a tug. It was a forceful wrenching of her head backwards, restraint of her body, and "something sexual" into her ear. This continued for long enough that Marchi had to physically repel Vic to get him to release her.

I’m gonna go with “Don’t trust people you’ve never met or never seen ‘off camera’ before” for $1,000 Alex.
I'll take Spicy Erimin Stories for $2000.

I can personally confirm that Tiffany Grant at least doesn't want to be involved in this situation. I know that because I met her at a convention and I asked her about Vic's situation. If I remember correctly, she said it didn't involve her so didn't really have an opinion on it.

I mean...most people would. Tho most would rather keep their careers.

And to be honest considering everyone involved that isn't Vic.....you can't really blame her

I commend her for at least being professional and staying out of the drama, as I think anyone else in her industry should. I remember asking Brittney Karbowski about Vic as well and she said "I believe my friends," meaning she believes Monica, Jamie, etc.

I also asked Kyle Hebert at another convention. It's been awhile, but I think he was neutral and said he hopes the courts solve the issue.

Also, if anyone is interested in hearing Vic more, he will be on my friend's YouTube show "Reason and Theology" to talk about faith and voice acting on October 21st at 6:00 PM Central Time. Even if you aren't a religious individual, it should be an interesting talk and give more insight into Vic's character.

Ok so who have you met?
I believe that falls under “power leveling”, and is discouraged in these here parts. But I can put Vic, JYB, Todd, and Michael Sinterniklaas, in the “know very, very well” column.

I wouldn’t put much stock in the general response a person gives to a controversial issue when that question comes from a total stranger.

Here is something else people should know. Despite Vic's career being destroyed by these people, he has forgiven them. I know that based on an email exchange I had with him.

If I recall correctly (I could be wrong), I remember seeing a screenshot of Rial claiming that she "knows" Vic is responsible for the trolling and harrassment she has received. If anyone has that screenshot, can you link it? I would truly like to know what evidence she has to prove that Vic is responsible for any of that. Vic has said to "spread positivity" and speak of positive experiences of him. I'm not aware of him ever saying to fans to attack his critics and detractors. Lemoine tried to spin his words into saying Vic was trying to "summon the troops."

To quote someone who has worked with Vic, " It [Stan Dahlin's affidavit] diffuses the claim that Monica claims Stan can corroborate her story, because she claimed he walked in on them doing something inappropriate, and Stan refutes it as saying if that was true, he would remember it - and he didn't remember anything of the sort "

I feel like you’re like... 8 months late on this train .

The VAs that are on my 'good list' right now are David Vincent, Bryce Papenbrook, JYB, Vic, and Crispin Freeman. I don't trust any of them on a personal level maybe vic but I have a positive view of them and don't expect them to be snakes. I can't think of anyone else at this point that I don't expect to at least flip kickvic for their own self-service.

But I think I know where Erimin is coming from. It's best to just enjoy from afar because at the end of the day they are still strangers. Now granted some of them are more stranger danger than most, but generally it's best to play it safe regardless of who it is.
Thanks. I’m just annoyed that people use a correspondence through an email or a ~5 conversation at a convention as justification for “knowing” someone.
I’m just saying, unless they’ve ever yelled at the bar staff of a restaurant because the idiot says they couldn’t accept your out of state drivers license as ID to buy beer or given you the keys to their apartment for a week then you probably don’t know them.

I could be wrong, but I feel like Erimin is assigning more weight to the term 'trust' in this usage than is meant. The way I take it to mean is 'trusting them to behave like a good person in public/to fans/coworkers as opposed to how people like Sabat and Monica do' - which is far from any kind of personal, familiar definition you'd use for someone you actually know. From what I'm seeing of her comments on the matter, she's referring to treating people like an actual friend or trusting them with real life things- ie; relying on them to come through for you in a personal emergency - and nobody should think that way about people they haven't met. That kind of trust is mutual, and therefore impossible to have without them knowing you as well as you know them. One-sided trust coming from a one-sided association is not trust, but delusion.

also hey we're back to the October colors. I like these more.

Ahh, yes we’ll, when you put it like that... If that’s the sort of “trust” people are referring to then I suppose I can understand that to some degree. I don’t personally subscribe to that brand of “trust” personality so I tend to not see things in those terms.
very good, carry on.

Love the orange, very jarring.

That's understandable. I feel like that kind of 'trust' is more used online than offline, sort of like how useless an online 'friend' is compared to a real life one. Conflating the two sends very mixed messages.
