I ate a bunch of stuff with onions yesterday and now I'm suffering from the terrible curse of massive farts. The rest of my family is suffering because of my affliction as well. Truly I should have acknowledged Melinda as a Troo and Honest Prophetess. Or at least taken some Beano.
What about legally, Melinda? Not religious legality, is it a violation of criminal law for a husband to use force against a wife? Please answer, I'm trying to get a better handle on how much Marshall physically abuses you when he wanders by and demands sex. What about outside of sex? How often does Marshall raise his hand to you when you displease him by doing things like asking him for money for diapers or to sign a witness statement to your daughter's birth? What about verbally? Are you allowed to disagree with Marshall without him using derogatory or abusive language towards you?
And how often are your children witnesses to all of this? How much fear do your children live in? Do they actively try to hide when he shows up, or do they just try to avoid him as much as possible? Did your children express any desire to see Marshall when you were broken up? We know Marshall didn't care, he ghosted you for days without so much as a word to you, much less the children. But did your children tell you they were glad he was gone? Admit it, they weren't unhappy at all to see (they thought) the last of Marshall. Then again, they've seen you do this dance with Marshall a dozen or more times, haven't they?
for two, believing that physical violence is not a sin worthy of condemnation is a theological position/a religious belief it's that's not "marital abuse"
