Abrupt death would be the most beneficial possible thing for Trump's reputation. His supporters could tell themselves that he was on the verge of tremendous success, if only he'd lived a few years longer; he wouldn't have to lose to a semi-senile candidate in November; and he wouldn't have to spend his declining years getting into Twitter feuds with people he'd no longer be capable of threatening after leaving office. If Trump were to die, you'd be able to imagine any kind of scenario about what he would have accomplished if he'd lived. I suppose conspiracy theories would also arise to make him a martyr of some kind of assassination plot.
