The gestational sac and fetal pole are the baby. Usually in terms of inevitability of miscarriage, there is a sac but no fetal pole.

The baby measures at 5 weeks 6 days, so conception was 3 weeks, 6 days ago if she is clockwork.

Fetal heart rate is healthy.

She's probably not going to have a miscarriage. Bleeding is always a little bit sus in pregnancy, however if it's implantation bleeding it doesn't last and it should only be super light spotting at the worst. If she continues to bleed throughout the pregnancy, it could be something else and the risk of a still birth rises but unless Ralph pushes her down a flight of stairs or drives her around drunk like he's prone to do, stillbirths aren't common. I feel a bit sad for the baby, because with him smoking around her he raises the risk of the baby being born with a cleft palate and if any of you want to check that out on google, be my guest.

I’m not in the US I’m afraid, but here people who don’t want to pay (as it’s not a medical necessity at this stage) will claim bleeding and/or severe pain to get a free scan as it’s then a medical necessity to diagnose miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. If she’s still on insurance then is it likely she’d do the same, might insurance cover it if it’s ordered by doctors rather than just for the parents to see?

I can’t help thinking that Ralph has encouraged Faith to fake a miscarriage to get his picture to own the A-Logs.

It depends on the drug.

Alcohol use is a bit of a grey area. Medical community will say that any amount of alcohol during any stage of pregnancy can cause defects/problems, but in terms of the reality of it, no. There are a lot of women who don't know they are pregnant who drink and their babies turn out fine. It's prolonged drinking over the course of the entire pregnancy that can cause fetal alcohol syndrome, and most cases of it don't actually have the physical characteristics and just the mental/developmental ones.

The way duration of pregnancy works is that the first 2 weeks are counted, but during those weeks you're not actually pregnant at all. Nobody knows when a woman ovulates, but what we can calculate is when they last had their period, so pregnancy is measured from the last period and from that, we can make an educated guess on ovulation/when the baby is conceived. When Ralph said she was 3 weeks along, conception would have been about a week before that.

She is under 25 and has been taking drugs, both prescription and recreational, and not just any drugs but psychotropic drugs as well as consuming alcohol. Further still Ralph has been smoking around her, and she also is most likely living a seditery life style, meaning she is not at peak fitness. And no Ralph, just because you smoke in your studio dirty ass bed room with the door shut does not mean that you are not smoking around Faith, because that smoke lingers, and if for some reason that crack shack has central heat and air, or is just as run down on the inside as it is on the outside, that smoke can also permeate to the rest of the house very easily, not to mention that it will embed particles into fabric and carpet, so since the bed that, we will assume you both sleep in (while laughing at the fact that your dumb ass is probably already relegated to the couch you fat fuck) she is sleeping on a bed that has absorbed smoke. All of this adds to the statistical probability and risks associated with miscarriage.
