The major issue for Ryan and Adam is the photos of them wearing merch or in front of posters etc. Hard to argue its entirely their personal life when they have pics of their erections poking out under their companies logo.

The real major issue for them is that they've fostered a super woke community and fan following. While sexting and sending nudes (of age) fans might not be a crime necessarily, it is a scuzzy thing to do.

And we're talking about Roosterteeth, and in Ryan's case Achievement Hunter. Their community is super woke about that sort of shit, in fact it was a sex related topic that brought about one of the earliest cases of them censoring something in their content from fan backlash that I can remember.

I'm referring to the "Connect the Hots" controversy, which now upon recollection Ryan was present for. Specifically, during one of their videos, Gavin and Geoff describe to Ryan the dumb game they play on their drive to work that involved creeping on hot girls.

So, essentially a dumb, but not insanely controversial story. Well, this video provoked such outrage and controversy in their community that the video was completely taken down, numerous apologies were issued, etc.

So, given the fact that the RT community threw a shit fit over a description of a dumb game where they might have creeped out women during their morning drive, I can't exactly see all this going over very well with the woke sect of their fanbase whom they've permanently given the keys to the kingdom to.
